think its obvious now so you think is a good horse but not a great one, the racing media love to hype up such horses.
looking back now, the expectation a lot of people had before royal ascot was that as soon as ryan moore pushed the button he'd of been away and won eased down by 5 lengths, when that defeat proved that (despite what o'brien said after the race) he had probably indeed ran his race that day. proves that the world cup race is a joke though, if monterosso wins a 10f group one in either england or france i'll eat as many hats as i can get.
speaking of hype, i got suckered in by an article on the rp and got a little bit greedy tonight - all for a paltry 6.60. had a tenner on union rags (was antepost kentucky derby favourite) and leparoux gave the horse a stinker. he's actually held his hand up and admitted he got it wrong, which is a change. espn.go.com/horse-racing/triplec ... 1-fl-derby
never mind, still up by a nice sum for the day so pleased in that respect. feel like a bit of a mug for betting on american racing though, when i pay very little attention to it apart from what is on the RP website and other mainstream racing media. horse should've won though tbf - can't really give myself too much stick for backing the horse as the jockey cost him the race, he dropped it out too far away from the pace and the front runner did them all up. no idea why though, as last time he was fairly prominent and told the horse to go a lot farther out and smashed the lot of them.
side glance looks a good thing tomorrow, although this will probably just be a pipeopener. cant take him at evens, no way. was a beaten favourite on his reappearance last year and faces a couple of genuine performers in st moritz and the gosden horse. not willing to take a chance on him first time up, if the main rivals are ready to rock and roll he may not be able to get away with needing the run.

| Newcastle - Liverpool 3-3 is 45/1, 2-2 is 11s.
Our attacking players are on form, but no defence. Liverpool have been a tactical shambles all year, I fancy goals to be scored.

| aye side glance is obviously one of those that needs a run, disappointed on his seasonal bow last year too.
penitent obviously goes well fresh, won the lincoln 2 years ago on his seasonal bow, but sometimes the change of yard can slow things down. obviously not here, good horse for o'meare to go to war with this summer.
never seen the race but heard adrian nicholls made a right pigs ear of things on st moritz?
could so easily have been 2-2 at st james's park had andy carroll put away the chances he had, would definitely have scored had he not dived, and we were fortunate not to concede a penalty.

one horse veered right across 3 horses and then penitent came down the outside with a clear run.

| barton stacey, hereford, should romp home.
well beaten second by a horse that had unseated, pulled up and beaten by 60L on past three runs, and had never previously looked like breaking maiden tag. form is a joke during these midweek races with crap horses.

| just watching the racing from dundalk and that was absolutely pathetic from joseph o'brien on Up, he is hopeless. dropped out the back, was forced to go wide coming round the bend and by that point the rest had got first run, he didn't make much of an effort to bustle the horse along either, a more prominent ride and a stronger finish would've done the job. joe public robbed once more.

| Anybody else like Widnes +40 tonight or just me? Warrington are resting a few of their key players, Monaghan, Westwood, Morley and maybe a few more. Added to the fact it's a local, it could be a carbon copy of the Wigan, except I still expect Wire to win so 40 could be a steal.
Also like Saints -4 on Good Friday, Wigan down to the bare bones in the front row withthe possibility of a few other of the big names Richards, McIlroum, Leuluai and Tomkins although I think the latter 2 will play. First new derby at Saints and theyre flying at the minute.

| Wanted to have the house on Warrington but didn't bother.
Perhaps a good job if Wire are resting a few players but still fancy Warrington.
Settled for a few bets on the golf
Van Pelt 66/1, Choi 66/1, Snedeker 80/1, Carbrera 100/1, Haas 100/1, Ogilvy 100/1 all for a couple of quid e/w.
