Her being a scouser and the accompanying accent doesn't put me off her, so why would her dancing in St Helens?

| Quote: Lord God Jose Mourinho "There were two reported injuries from those incidents. One was a little scratch on RVP's face. The other was a steward losing conciousness and needing to go to hospital..'"
As far as I am aware, Adebayor did not knock the steward out.
I hear what you are saying but where do you draw the line? As I stated before, Eduardo dived in front of the away fans in a successful attempt to cheat his way to a penalty. Was that not provocative? That could similarly have caused a rush of angry away fans?
However, you could bet your bottom dollar in such a case, now Eduardo's behaviour has been deemed acceptable, the fans would have rightfully been blamed for such behaviour rather than the player who 'provoked' it.

| Amazes me how the FA can charge a player for a celebration, something the referee dealt with, yet we see players getting fractured skulls in games, their legs being snapped in half and some disgraceful challenges, but the FA won't do squat.
It's just ridiculous, they're so inconsistent with their decisions and rules.

| I see Clattenberg now claims he didn't see the incident with Van Persie and he would have sent him off if he had. He was five yards away staring straight at them with a perfectly unobstructed view. ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

| Quote: D.D. "As far as I am aware, Adebayor did not knock the steward out.'"
He didn't. But he caused that incident. Without him running from one end of the field to the other it wouldn't have happened.
Quote: D.D. "I hear what you are saying but where do you draw the line? As I stated before, Eduardo dived in front of the away fans in a successful attempt to cheat his way to a penalty. Was that not provocative? That could similarly have caused a rush of angry away fans?'"
IMO the line's drawn between "normal" celebration and one solely designed to incite. IMO he'd have been pushing at the line if he'd done that after scoring at the away end. He'd have probably got away with it. And incidentally, Thierry Henry used to always celebrate by goading us when he scored against us, so it is ironic that they were on the other end this time.
But I just think that going from one end of the pitch to the other, you're creating the problem, you're going well out of your way to create the problem. You're getting done for the problems you create.
Eduardo's dive was just an incident that happened to take place there. Same with nasty tackles in front of oppo fans. These are things that are going to anger oppo fans, but it's in the stewards remit to sort these problems out. They shouldn't have to be dealing with professional players deliberately inciting the fans though.
Quote: D.D. "However, you could bet your bottom dollar in such a case, now Eduardo's behaviour has been deemed acceptable, the fans would have rightfully been blamed for such behaviour rather than the player who 'provoked' it.'"
But Eduardo's behaviour hasn't been deemed acceptable to anyone. To anyone with eyes Eduardo is a diving cheat, Wenger's a hypocritical liar and UEFA are incompetent morons.
The fans should be blamed for over-reacting to diving or a bad foul. They should also be blamed for their part in the reaction to Adebayor, and IMO they will if the CCTV evidence can be found. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bunch of banning orders on the back of this.

| The new rules about capping and home grown players. Chelsea have just been banned from signing any players because of the Kakuta signing. There are now loads of clubs coming forward and saying that Man United, Liverpool etc have done similar things to them. FIFA are saying that young players should be left at the clubs where they grow up so they can develop. But bringing in this home grown players rule will mean that it's far more important that the young players PL clubs have are the best available. FIFA want young players left alone, but the PL are bringing in rules that will make them even more prized.

The incident would not have happened if the fans had shown the kind of restraint you expect from an adult.
What next? Away fans being excused for ripping up seats and throwing them at home fans because the home supporters near the segregation line celebrated.
Which of the following should be punished:
* Running 80 yds to celebrate in front of opposition fans (where an ex-player scores)?
* Running 40 yds to celebrate in front of opposition fans (where an ex-player scores)?
* Running 80 yds to celebrate in front of opposition fans (in a derby game)?

* Running 80 yds to celebrate in front of opposition fans (in a game against a bitter rival)?

* Running 80 yds to celebrate in front of opposition fans (in a game in which the scorer has a problem with the opposition fans)?
* Running 40 yds to celebrate in front of opposition fans (in a game in which the scorer has a problem with the opposition fans)?
What is incitement?
If teh fans don't react, is it still incitement?
What is the acceptable running distance, and what is the relevant context in which it is allowed?
If the FA ban Adebayor on the grounds of improper conduct, it will set a dangerous precedent. If this actually took place in a court, the charges would fail, without doubt.

Under law he could actually be charged with a public order offence.

| Adebayor is facing a three-match ban for violent conduct for the incident involving Robin van Persie, while the City striker is likely to face an additional punishment for the celebration that followed his goal in the 4-2 win.
Quote: The F.A. ""The Football Association today issued two charges against Manchester City's Emmanuel Adebayor following Saturday's Premier League fixture between Manchester City and Arsenal.
"Under the fast-track disciplinary process, Adebayor has been charged with violent conduct following an incident with Robin van Persie, which resulted in the Arsenal player receiving facial injuries.
"Referee Mark Clattenburg has advised the FA that he did not see this incident, but has confirmed that had he done so, he would have sent Adebayor off for violent conduct. The player has until 6pm on Wednesday evening to respond to the charge.
"Adebayor has also been charged with improper conduct following his actions when turning and running the full length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the Arsenal supporters after scoring.
"The Greater Manchester Police have written to The FA with their views on this incident. A separate date will now be arranged for a commission to consider Adebayor's goal celebration."'"
Make of that what you will.

He's only just got his job back. I doubt he wants to rock the boat with the FA. It's sad to be honest, as I thought he had an excellent game. One of the best refereeing performances of the season IMO.

| Let's talk proper football now, big champions league week ahead with Inter v Barca being the pick of the games. I fancy Inter to win it this year as they have recruited well in Eto'o, Sneijder, Motta, Lucio and Milito. Eto'o gives them that touch of class up front which they were lacking previously.

Both Milito and Eto'o scored at the weekend. Eto'o's was a cracker.
