think burton port could be a proper gold cup horse and is an interesting opponent for long run, probably gold cup next year though with an uninterupted prep. not to say he couldnt run a good race this year though, not a lot of competition to kauto and long run. still, that is assuming BP retains all ability of old.

long run isnt home and hosed tomorrow though, if he clatters a few fences and runs in snatches like he did previously this season then he could get beat. the henderson horses are flying though, he's had more schooling with yogi breisner and, after two runs, should be pretty sharp for this with the finishing touches applied in the next few weeks for the gold cup.

if he does get beat and lines up for the gold cup winless for the season that would be something... something that would've been laughed out of the country six months ago.

sprinter sacre will either make a costly error or produce something special. hopefully the latter. dont think hold fast is the next master minded and french opera will, like burton port and zarkandar, probably need the run.
