| Quote: Andy Gilder "If we had gone on to lose last night I wouldn't have hung one single bit of the blame on Ryan.
Yes, he made a bad decision and got picked off. It happens to every QB, but in no way was it singularly responsible for the front four not being able to generate a pass rush, or Mike Nolan's shocking play calling that alowed Wilson all day in the pocket to find his receivers.
There are 44 other guys on the roster who all contribute in some way or other to whether a team wins or loses. Hanging it all on a QB - as so often seems the case with the media and Ryan - is ridiculous.
Hopefully we're more agressive defensively against the Niners, otherwise we could be in for the same kind of night.'"
It wouldn't have been entirely his fault but he would have had a fairly large portion of the blame.
It would have been the 2nd play off game (against us too) where he made a fatal error which turned the momentum of the game.

| Quote: ST_CONROY "People aren't jumping on Shannahan just for running the system. It is an exciting system. It works (whether it does long term is another question).
People are jumping on him for continuing to run the system when his QB has a knee injury.
Likewise I would criticise Harbaughh/Carroll if they did the same when Kap/Wilson were clearly injured.
Whether or not his injuries came on designed option/run plays they came on plays where he was exposed far more than any "conventional" QB would be.'"
RGIII injured his knee on the TD pass to Paulsen against the Seahawks. That was as "conventional" a drop back play as you can see.
Now, whether RGIII should have played in, or stayed in that particular game, is a whole other debate, but it's nothing to do with the system.
Like you say, there's a debate whether whether the read option has a long term future at the NFL level. I get that and have some thoughts. I'm not overly concerned because RGIII is also a very, very good pocket passer. What I don't accept is that our offensive scheme got RGIII injured. Our scheme made us one of the best offenses in the league. RGIII's injury against B'More was just a freak that could happen to any QB that takes off when under pressure.

| Ravens v Falcons in the Super Bowl please. Fortunately Patriots v 49ers didn't come to fruition last year and hopefully it will be the same again this time around (although I think, annoyingly, it will be). I want to actually watch the game and have a team to root for. Don't think I could enjoy it wanting neither team to win!

| How could anybody not want a repeat of that 49ers-Patriots game from the regular season? It was terrific. I mean, the Ravens are okay but they're a bit boring. That said, I'd prefer Ravens-Falcons than Patriots-Falcons. On Ryan, didn't he have the same amount of time and time outs as Manning did the day before but he won the game for his team. That was some going with those passes because I thought they'd thrown the game away. I was watching on an American feed and the guy streaming it was a Seahawks fan. He was gutted poor lad lol.

| The Bears have a new HC and it's Marc Trestman who has come from the CFL.He is known to be a good QB coach so aslong as they upgrade the O-line Cutler should be able to show us if he's good enough to take us to a long overdue superbowl win.

| So.....Manti Te'o. How far does he fall in the draft now?
Can't say I've seen a lot of him but he was projected top 10. Clearly, whatever is the truth of the story isn't good for him.

Seems he was taken for a big ride.

| Lot of the new HC hires coming in from an offense background, good DCs are going to be at a premium to provide them with support and expertise.
First steps taken to provide a new home for the Falcons, planned to be complete for the start of the 2017 season. The Georgia Dome will be 25 years old by that point, which is about the average lifespan of a domed NFL stadium.
New home will still be in downtown Atlanta, and will hopefully help the city keep those events that currently use the Dome. Long as it doesn't end up being called "Home Depot Stadium" or something similar, it's all good.

I think it would take a team with a very strong leader already in the locker room and a franchise that has discipline and structure from the top down., I wouldn't rule out a team like the Packers, Patriots or Steelers taking him if he falls.

Still indoors, it's a commercial necessity these days IMO as it allows you to host exhibitions, events and stuff like NCAA Final Four.
Keep perpetuating these myths about The Mattural (copyright - Rich Eisen), going to make that Superbowl win all the sweeter
