after looking at the race one last time i decided to back somersby, just go give it a chance to prove his runs to master minded were true.
such a frustrating horse.
they might as well pack in.

| I'd put Somersby in the King George, let him try 3m then lay him off till the Gold Cup, where he would be a serious e/w shot.
Mr Moonshine ran a cracker for a novice, 1st 1 for the notebook in the Maghull Novice Chase at Aintree
I put Gauvain up on here for the Tingle Creek @ 10s, and left him alone today

| Just laid the Henderson fave in the 3pm at Huntingdon. Looks a decent novice hurdle for midweek.
Backed a dog of a loser and laid a comfy winner. What a waste of money.

| 12.35 Cheltenham - Edgardo Sol - 5/1
Sent off fav in a Listed handicap on Saturday coming 4th that was its first run since hacking up round here and being raised 12lbs, Harry Derham rides tomorrow and is well worth the 7lbs he takes off, also this is a drop in level from the weekend with it being a Class 3 race, it looks a decent chance.
Oscargo in the 2.55 for Nicholls looks a massive chance.
3rd in a Listed race here on only its second start, been raised 4lbs but looks sure to be progressive beyond that mark.
Single @ 7/4 and Nicholls double @ 15/1

| Facy Grandouet to keep on the up on Saturday.
Oozed class at Haydock and could take high rank as the year progresses. Will get a strong pace thanks to Overturn and could have too much speed going up the hill if his jumping game is A1. Had the rapidly-improving Brampour 5-6L behind him at the Festival and is unlucky not to have won every race he's ran in since finishing third that day. Arguably would've won at Aintree as was starting to loom up ominously when being brought down, and was cantering all over Celestial Halo until falling on seasonal bow at Wincanton. When completing either side of the falls (at Punchestown and Haydock) he has won in decisive fashion. Brampour is a fascinating contender on his first foray outside of handicaps this season, both of which he has impressed in. Menorah will throw a challenge down and is an interesting contender back over hurdles, he certainly knows how to knuckle down and fight up the hill. Won this last year but has more on his plate this time. Overturn is in the form of his life and if he gets a decent lead kicking for home he will be very difficult to peg back.
Best prices in the betting; Grandouet 3/1 - Menorah 7/2 - Overturn 4/1 - Brampour 9/2 - 10s Bar.

| Not posted for a while on here, fancy one tomorrow.
Badger Foot - 13:10 - Cheltenham
Backed this back in May in the Perth Gold Cup, where he was travelling really well before he blundered a fence and went backwards from there, after the race it coming to light he lost his action during this. Got beat 48 lengths on his return in October over 3f, today he runs over 2m 5f - although I think he can get the 3f I think this will suit him. I thought he put in a decent run in this race, perhaps needing the run as he challenged for the lead, but soon tired and was heavily eased down when the race was over - so hopefully it isn't a reoccurance of a breathing problem but purely in the need of the run, with the addition of the drop in trip.
Don't think the race is of a very high standard, obviously the Nicholls favourite will head the market, hiked up 9lb for his last win and I still think has some scope to improve, but I think he's worth taking on with a bigger priced horse. Currently 11's with Boyles, and 10's in places - solid E/W bet for me.

Referees are like women, they make snap decisions and never reverse them.

Talk about being bitched - what a torrid time they've had. They'll be looking for some A&E rest time for the next three years at least.:simpsons/PDT13.gif |

| Cheltenham 12:00 - Sam Winner 13/8
Back going left handed on a track it goes well at and also over a longer distance it seemed to need, gets 7lbs and 12lbs from the others too.

| 13:55 Cheltenham - 7/2 - Halley
Improved alot since going to Tom George coming 2nd in a Listed race in France and then winning a Group 1 race which has been won in recent years by Long Run and Kauto Stone, the fences in France are different to here so the switch back to hurdles shouldn't be hard, George has also said it will love the 3 miles.
If this was trained by Nicholls or Henderson it would be near fav for this.
Cheltenham 3.05 - Grandouet 3/1 ante post & 10/3
Has been very impressive recently, gets weight from some key threats and this is the big test for Henderson to see just how good it is.

| Navan 1.45 - Pineau De Re - 7/1 EW
Very good bumper horse who went well last season placing in Grade 2 Novice races, won this season when stepped up to 2m6f staying on really well to win by 2 lengths over two fancied horses, fell 2 out last time when again staying on I doubt it would of won but that was over 2m4f, its stepped back up tomorrow to 2m7f and has 7lbs claimer onboard which would bring its mark down to around 130ish with a best of 142 and getting the trip it seems to need I think its a decent chance.
