| Didn't know what to make of the pre-race betting, with everything seeming to be getting backed a little then eased a little. If something is being sent over from Ireland, or vice versa, I like the market to speak positive and, despite favouritism, Bostons looked a little big on the book for my reckoning, which made me think he was being sent over for the run instead of sent over expected to win. After his exploits of last year, if he was bouncing at home and expected to win I'd of expected 6/4 or less, not a drifting 7/4-2/1.

| 1st of all, Fingal Bay needs soft in the going description, and will be avoided on good or faster. Yet again, the RSA fails to deliver, and the 3m department is looking worse by the week.
TINGLE CREEK;
Gauvain 10/1... has his ideal conditions, namely softened ground, has win and place form around Sandown, and in fields of 7 or less, his form reads 1f111121. would have preferred grade 1 winning form, but has a placing behind Riverside Theatre to his name in that class.
Sizing Europe... If Betfair are only going 2 places, then he will be a place lay, if not, a win lay at upto 2/1... This season, he was lucky to win on his debut, and runner up over 3m lto, where he was literally, out on his feet at the end. That was only 4 weeks ago, I don't think he has been given long enough to recover. A shame that Tataniano is not running, but the pace and going should be enough to ensure that Wishfull Thinking and Kauto Stone ( both grade 1 horses), and hopefully Gauvain will be in the mix up the hill.

| 2.40 Chepstow - Carlicue 8/1 EW 4 Places
Heavy ground P2P winner so ground and trip will be fine, won its second go over hurdles well and was then sent off hot fav in Feb for a race like this but bled from the nose and not seen since, dropped 6lbs and looks like one of Nicholls thrown in handicap sorts which could have alot in hand.

| Interestingly, during todays race at Sandown, Fingal Bay went to 6.0 I/R, while Simonsig hit a low of 1.24.
Obviously, plenty of layers and backers got a nasty surprise.
MAY be tempted to back Mikael D'Haguenet tomorrow. Haven't backed him since he won the hurdle race at the festival, but tomorrow surely is his chance to get back in the winners enclosure. Unless the falls he had over fences have left a lasting mark, he is surely good enough to win this.

| Surprised it didnt hit lower than 1.24 to be fair. Looked to be travelling much better than the winner as they turned in, just didnt find anything or maybe the winner just kept on really well to the line.
One bet for me and its the return of one of Keighleys stable stars that Im hoping runs well on its return. Any Currency 3:40 Sandown. Priced around 5/1 which is a backable price for me. Another favourable write up on his blog this morning, the horse has strengthened up and has been working well at home. Today will tell a lot for its future plans. Im hoping hes fit and ready but obviously over 360 days off and the cobwebs need blowing off somewhere. Have taken 25's for the Welsh National over Xmas as this will put him spot on for that race, but if he wins today then that will surely be single figures. Hoping for a good run.

| Done a double of Al Ferof and Sir Des Champs.
The latter looks to have been given a nice opportunity on his chasing bow, Davy Russell has been red-hot all season so far and generally gives novices every chance. The opposition hasn't collectively got much worthwhile form over fences either.
As for Al Ferof, he made a satisfactory start over fences, doing nothing wrong, and afterwards Nicholls has said he will be much better next time out as he never has his novice chasers wound-up first time. Never thought Eradicate had the scope to be a chaser but may prove me wrong, was smart over hurdles and one of his Swinton victories was rated the same as Al's Supreme Novices win. John Hales has also said he hopes Al Ferof can develop into his next serious Gold Cup horse. He will surely be primed when it comes to Arkle day, but should be good enough to take this with a clear round.
Leaving the Tingle. Too many question marks for too many to answer. Sizing, while the Champion Chaser, had a hard race on bottomless ground last time out and looked clapped out for the last hundred yards. Wishful Thinking probably better over further at this level, the Ryanair will be his race to run in. Kauto Stone also dropping back in trip but a really exciting prospect none-the-less. Gauvain has parts of form that would put him bang in the mix, but also some less than inspiring form.
An open race, and one to savour IMO.
Decided to swerve the Fairyhouse race too. If he has his eye back for it then MDH should trounce these, but the Weld horse still seems to be improving and could be too strong if MDH isn't on his game.

| Done the Nacarat and Al Ferof double
Had small punt on Taigan to place in the first at Sandown @ 20/1.
Fell at 2nd on hurdle debut and last time just looked a schooling and was its 2nd run of the season, bumper winner beating a now Willie Mullins trained horse and also finished ahead of another of his, also Taigan is half sister to the dam of So Young.

| Had a lucky 15 for a bit of small stake interest in the rest of the day.
Keys - Aintree 12pm. Was decent on the flat and is held in high regard at Seven Barrows by all accounts. 2nd favourite for the race behind the McCain horse. 11/8
Mikael D'Haguenet - Fairyhouse 12.50. Posted last night about this one. 5/4
Nacarat - Aintree 2.45. Should be a lot fitter after the Charlie Hall and goes very well at this track, won a grade one here in April. 6/5
Sizing Europe - Sandown 3.05. He is the best two miler in the field. Decided to pick one, and with many better over further he may be able to see them off with his speed if Down Royal hasn't left a mark. 7/4
Two quid coupon on the football too. Happy days.
Do Paddy Power not recognise a lucky15 as a qualifying bet of over £1? didn't want to watch the race anyway....

| Complained to Power that was fobbed off with a stream for the 12pm at Aintree. They gave me a quid back to see if it was an account problem, then to back something and try and watch the live stream to see if it would work. Put that on Mississippi River at Fairyhouse and managed to watch it, pocket money return for nothing.
