| The bookies really do like to hype up these novice hurdlers. Dunguib was in the same boat last year.

| Timeform have given Cue Card a rating of 156.
For info, Dunguib had a 136p rating this time last year, according to Sporting Life. Mind you, it got beat at the Festival

| Time For Rupert
A near perfect round of first time chasing and he's got a big season ahead of him.

| Just backed Berties Dream @ 6/1 E/W for the 1.20 Cheltenham
Very good over hurdles winning the Albert Bartlett here in March and was 3rd in its other run here behind Tell Massini, ran and jumped well on chase debut before fading to come 4th trainer was happy with it though as it wasn't fully wound up, gets 5lbs from Wayward Prince and 8lbs from 3 others.

| All about Long Run for me tomorrow, can't personally see any dangers..
Ok, he wasn't the best of jumpers last season and made at least 3 or 4 mistakes (some bad) in all his races, but even with those he still absolutely destroyed a very good horse in Tazbar first time up last season in the Feltham.
A year older and more work at home under the guidance of the best NH trainer around for me and he should be spot on for this IMO.
We know he goes well first time up, the trip will probably be about ideal, certainly no problems, the ground should be no problem at all, the yards horses are firing with two easy winners at Cheltenham today, so everything is right for me.
Not concerned about the jockey really as he knows the horse well, and if the horse puts in any kind of slight improvement in his round of jumping tomorrow as opposed to last season then I can't see anything living with it.

| Bet of the day for me is Ross County to beat Dundee (29/20 with Hills)
Ross lost their manager to Hibs in the week and caretaker Craig Brewster (who was assistant manager) is likely to get a good showing from his players as I'd guess most would want him to get the gig permanently and although Dundee have responded well to their massive points deduction you could understand their heads dropping if things start to go wrong in games and the initial siege mentality a disapointment like that brings tends to disserpate over time and they may start wishing the season was over and getting ready to regroup at a lower level next term. They have yet to win away and beating Partick Thistle last week infront of a good supportive home crowd giving it all to the SFA was a lot easier task than they face today and County did ok only losing 1-0 at Falkirk the same day. They draw far too many at home for anyones liking but hopefully today that changes and they bag all three points.

I like this ^^
Bets today are:
Uttoxeter 12.40 Pret A Thou 4/1
Cheltenham
1.20 Berties Dream 6/1 E/W
2.35 Long Run @ 4/1 and 10/3 Poquelin 12/1 E/W w/o fav - goes very well round here, looked very good last time out and jockey takes 5lbs off.
3.10 Pistolet Noir 12/1 E/W shot in the dark with this like its trainer but it does have a win and a 2nd round here, 5lbs claim takes it near the mark of its Aintree 3rd Nicholls was alot happier with the horse saying it had really grown up in the summer but failed to show it again, seems abit of monkey blinkers on and a new trip.
Punchestown 3.15 Zaidpour @ around 2.6 - half brother to Zaynar was 14/1 in Jan this year for Triumph Hurdle but got a cut, Mullins kept it in training but not raced it to keep a novice next year he's taken his time with it, suppose to have gone well at home I also do some ante post bets on it.

| Nicky Henderson put my mind to rest with what he said in the RP today, hopefully the schooling and coaching will have got his jumping up to standard - one place we will certainly find out is Cheltenham.
As said, Waley Cohen knows the horse better than anyone. Bringing in a top prop who has never sat on the horse before would maybe not be a good thing. Six and two threes really.
Think I'll have a small bet on Long Run. Can't get my mind off his first two runs over here last year, at Kempton and Warwick (I think).
