| Quote: Enfield Exile "Sorry, fella. Your post lost credibility in the last paragraph. This is the Real Madrid who have Faubert in their ranks, and wanted to sign Pennant.
He was quality last year, second in the assists table behind only Fabregas IIRC.
The difference between Pennant, Faubert and Young; is that Faubert was a loan, Pennant would have been for dirt cheap but Ashley Young would have been 20m+.
Faubert is a quick fix, Pennant would have been the same, Ramos wants width and he identified Young as the player to bring that, Villa weren't willing to sell.
What do you mean, he doesn't have enough tricks? Young regularly beats his man and delivers consistently good service, not only is his crossing good, but his passing has improved vastly, MON has played him in the hole several times this season and last season.
I'd say Robinho is probably better now, and a more established player, but as Young starts to break into the England squad, and maybe even gets CL football under his belt next season, I don't see any reason why he can't surpass Robinho.

More clubs would come in for Young or Ribery if they wanted a left winger. Big clubs too. I think Milan were believed to want Ribery, Bayern slapped a £40m price tag on him.
More clubs would come in for Robinho if they wanted a frontman, or an off the front player.
They are kind of the reverse of each other, Young plays best as a left winger who can play off the front, as he did at Everton away and at Watford.
Robinho is a frontman, who can play left wing or as the left of a three as he has done at Man City but isn't as effective hence why City are in the bottom half of the table.

So to sum up your post: Anyone not as good as Ronaldo is !"$*? That would surely mean Rooney (most overrated talent in world football and no top European clubs have ever shown an interest in him), Berbatov, Frazier Campbell ( ), Manucho ( ) and Wellbeck (icon_lol.gif ) are all !"$*

Did I say 'big' clubs wouldn't sign Ribery? Please provide proof
We were after Ribery too. We can afford. I don't think any other English club can

More top clubs would come in for Robihno if they needed a left-winger even though that is not his best position

Something else you have got wrong. 7th if we win on Saturday.
Robihno ineffective?

| Just looking at FIFPRO and amazing that Robinho has never been near any of the teams or awards, a certain Mr Rooney has won one...

Anybody on here ever read those Actim Index things?
Not sure how they figure them out, but just looking at the top 100 in the Prem now...
www.premierleague.com/page/Actim ... 06,00.html
I'd love to know what stats have got Dirk Kuyt higher than Ashley Young and Robinho

Your right, I missed the mighty Algeria off the list of countries Robinho has failed to impress against.
The same Rooney who United paid millions for? Surely you're not suggesting that we are not a "top European club" considering at the time we signed him we had already won the European Cup twice and since (with Rooney in the team) have won it further once.
PS - how many top European clubs were after "Robbie"? Non, that's why he ended up at your gaff.

How many assists does Anelka have?
How many winning goals has he scored?
You're a Cheslea fan?
No, a football fan who loosely pledges his allegiance to Chelsea. I wouldn't class myself as a 'Fan'.
I'm not sure how many assists, but on that thing above about three posts up, he's rated as the biggest contributor in the Premiership. Obviously, it must be weighted towards goals, but your fella, "Robbie", is top five in the Goalscoring charts but way down in the ratings like.
