| Two notable accomplishments from yesterdays game. Firstly, David Price threw his first major league shutout. Great effort from a very talented young pitcher. Our bats didn't have a clue. Secondly, Jose Molina threw out 4 from 4 base stealers, including Carl Crawford twice! It was pretty amazing to watch. He's now caught 7 from 8 so far this season. No doubt the Red Sox will be after him
Speaking of which, we start a 3 game home stand with them tonight and to be honest I haven't got a clue what to expect from either side.

OK, so I didn't expect that! What a display of diabolical pitching. Deary me.
On the brightside, we sent down Accardo and DFA'd Valdez from our BP, bringing up Josh Roenicke and Rommie Lewis from AAA Vegas. Roenicke has been nails in AAA and Lewis gets the call because he's a lefty. I doubt we'll see Accardo in a Jays uniform again.
More madness tonight? I can't wait to find out!

| Much better pitching last night but another 1 run defeat racked up. I have no idea why Randy Ruiz is even in the 25 because we've had 2 blindingly obvious pinch hit scenarios in the past few games and he hasn't been brought in for either. But Cito doesn't like to bring in 'Rookies' to pinch hit for veterans because he sees it as insulting to them. WTF? Also, why persist with Buck behind the plate when he's hitting no better than Molina and Molina is the much better catching option? Whilst I am enjoying watching our young starters pitch very well (for the most part) and the resurgence of V-Dub, right now I cannot help but look forward to the end of the season because it will also be the end of Cito-Ball.
I shall be at the Dome tonight cheering on Brett Cecil as we try and avoid the sweep. I think the Red Sox owe us a big 'thank you' for finally getting their season going.

| I'm really hoping that the Oakland pitchers can't throw heat, otherwise we're screwed for the next 4 games.

| How good is Robinson Cano? 407 and 8 homers? Could have the best April in Yankees history.

Who? I'm still loving a .500 April for the Reds. Great stuff and a three game winning streak going into tonight's series against the Cardinals. Come on the Reds! They should employ me as a cheerleader.

| Pretty prodicutive series for the Jays as they take 3 from 4 against Oakland. John Buck shut the fans up by hitting 3 homers on Thursday night and backing it up with 3 doubles yesterday. Alex Gone-zalez continues to impress with the bat too, with 8 HRs he's already matched his total for 2009.
The YTD batting stats for us are just messed up. Tied for 1st in the majors for HRs (38) and doubles (71), 2nd in total bases (397), 2nd in strikeouts (222) and 29th in BA (0.233). So much for playing small ball this year. I believe our philosophy at the plate is "Let it rip".
Road trip to Cleveland, Chicago and Boston up next. I'm sure Boston will be happy to see us again, we maybe not Beckett.

Asbolutely. Saw him pitch in the spring against Phillie and he was looking great. He really should have started the season with the Jays but the manager in his wisdom wanted Tallet in the rotation because of his age/experience (which as a starter isn't that much). Cecil was killing it in AAA so I was kind of happy about Tallet picking up a minor injury. Most likely he'll go to the pen when he's off the DL and Brett will keep his place in the rotation.
Blue Jays currently leading the majors in HRs. And to think I scoffed at the manager when he said pre-season that we had at least 7 players capable of 20 HR seasons. Seriously though, who expected players like Buck, Bautista and Gonzalez to hit like this?
Going for the sweep in Cleveland as I type.

| Red Sox vs Yankees starts again tonight
Beckett has had a tough start with a 6+ ERA so it should be interesting to see how the Yanks take him on
Buchholz has had a good start with plenty of K's so him vs CC should be a good game like.
Lester vs Burnett is the best looking game i think.
Can't wait to watch these games having missed the first few at the start of the season.
