The sad thing about this game, compared to any given league game was the way Guscott creamed himself over a move started by Vainikolo. It broke down 10 seconds later because England are woeful but to find solace in a minor play just highlights how dire that game is. Such a move can be found every 30 seconds in a league match - it's called "passing the ball and running". No kicking - just passing and running.

Sad thing is - they lap it up. They'd watch any old sh*it if it meant having a day out and shouting for England. The sponsors will continue to shovel money at it. The BBC will carry on hyping it up. John Inverdale always manages to squeeze out some kind of highlight from a very crap game.
