After the first game he calls Detroit boring to watch because they don't fight and says thats why they don't sell out.'"
Speaking to a friend from over the pond a while ago I asked about attendances at the Joe Louis (who regularly attends their games) and why they don't sell out, he did say that lack of physical play was a problem for Detroit as although they are a great team and successful alot of fans want to see the physical side of the game and this is one of the reasons they dont sell out plus now as you state the financial aspect is taking its toll.
To be fair this was also something that the Blackhawks realised and even Rocky Wirtz mentioned when he took over that fans want to see great hockey but also the physical side.

| Dale Tallon yet again does a fantastic job of messing up in trade deal
Anaheim traded C Samuel Pahlsson, D Logan Stephenson and a conditional pick in the 2009 Entry Draft to Chicago for D James Wisniewski and C Petri Kontiola!
Have to say I'm really pee'd off the Hawks have traded Wisniewski, I thought he was a very useful player and chipped in with important pts.
He has notched 13pts in 32 games this season and Pahlsson has only got 15pts in 52 games which is poor for a C against a D man. Pahlsson is getting to the end of his career and Wisniewski is just getting to his prime.
If they wanted a veteran centre I'd rather they went for Moore who the Leafs traded to Buffalo as he would have been a much better option without giving too much away.
Can't see how this trade makes the Hawks stronger at all only weaker. The sooner Tallon is told to leave well alone with trades the better for me. Tallon has also failed to get Havlat to a new deal so Havlat is most likely going to test the free agent market and he's failed to do anything with Khabibulin so he'll more than likely walk for nothing come July 1st.

| Nik Antropov joins the Rangers, the Leafs getting a second-round draft choice and another conditional pick and the Leafs traded Dominic Moore to Buffalo for Carolina's 2nd-round pick in the 2009 Entry Draft (previously acquired).
Leafs also claimed G Martin Gerber from the Sens and D Erik Reitz from the Rangers on waiver.

Thats the sort of deal Tallon should have done, instead of taking Pahlsson for Wisniewski, still can't believe that deal. The Ducks have got rid of an average centre for a decent D man who can play and mix it up if needed. Tallon shafted the Hawks organisation on this deal.
Moore would have been the ideal veteran centre to bring in to the Hawks camp and improve them for the late season run and play-offs.

| Bad weekend for the Hawks after losing to the Bruins they get easily beaten at home by the worst team in the western conference (Avs)5-1.
The Hawks just seem to be treading water at the moment, they can't get higher than 4th and until recently they had a big lead over the 5th placed team but they need to start picking it up again or the rest of the teams will be catching them up in the standings.

Seems the team have suffered from losing a well liked & popular character in Wisneiwski. Sounds like Pahlsson may still be a couple of weeks from icing for the Hawks.
Hopefully Hawks are just settling for 4th place and home advantage now. Quennville didn't sound a happy guy by his comments. Worry is now Havlat may be out for a while.

| Hawks get a 3-2 S/O win against the Canes. Hawks reactivate Khabibulin on injured reserve list.
