Well, kind of, yes. They've tried to play him behind Rooney and it didn't work. If Torres was English, Gerrard would play in the middle every game behind him. But because we don't have a forward like Torres, he's kind of shifted him to the left, but he swaps around with Rooney in the middle throughout games, and it seems to benefit both players. However, Rooney has performed much better than Gerrard for England in recent times, so it's to be expected that Capello will try to maintain his good form, and build his side around the form player, but it's clear he's also got Gerrard playing better than he did under Shteve McLaren.

Liverpool did far better than I expected but they must wonder how they never won it. Only lost 2 games all season, best goal difference and way ahead in the head to head's for the top 4.

Benitez is losing plot again, to say that bust up between Carragher and Arbeloa was all down to team spirit and expected is rubbish. Nobody wants see their team players do that on the pitch.

I agree. I think what he meant was they were arguing for the right reasons. Carra thought we were slacking, so he made sure Arbeloa knew what he thought. It wasn't right of him to do that during the game, especially in the manner he did it, but his reasons behind it were right, there was no malice.

Thats the way i see it too its not as if their the first to do it either just as has been stated earlier
