As you say Punk is so over as a face it isn't funny.
What better time to have Cena 'Fired' and have him take a rest seeing as he has been working 'busted' for months.
As everyone said this all seem's a tad rushed one way or another.
Cena gets 'fired' for a month or 2 whilst Punk starts 'buying tickets' and interupting match's all the while using the 'what the fans want' angle to keep himself over it then all comes to a head 2 months down the line with a BOOM.
Although the storyline they have gone with is ok it could be so much more.

Potentially I really feel Punk could be the biggest face since Austin. By that I mean an actual babyface getting the right reaction. Punk maybe won't top Cena's merch sales, but Cena as a babyface has, in terms of crowd reaction, been a failure the last 6 years, in that his character is not supposed to get booed. You never heard Hulk Hogan get booed by anyone in the 80's, or Austin or Rock in 98 / 2000 respectively, so in that sense Cena hasn't achieved what legends like that did. However, as people rightly say about Cena any reaction is a good reaction (i.e. it shows people care about you whether it's love or hate) and I'm sure he's happy to continue putting up with boos as long as those huge royalty checks keep arriving, so fair play to him.
Back to Punk though, IMO the possibilities are endless, and this modern 'rebellious employee v boss' tease could be awesome if done correctly. The beauty too is that HHH can still work a 5-star match (as shown at WM against Taker) something McMahon couldn't do against Austin (from a technical standpoint that is).

Rumours abound that Punk vs Jericho could be the match for Wrestlemania.

Yeah I saw somewhere in an interview that Punk said he feels the biggest possible match for him would be against Austin. Not sure if Austin's physically capable of working a match now though because of all the injuries. IIRC his last match was against The Rock in 2003 at WM19 (though it was a very good one). Would be great build-up and promos though eh.

Gail Kim actually quit after WWE ordered her to get out of the battle royal match on this weeks RAW in a minute, so to do that she decided to just eliminate herself. A great wrestler who has been treated badly by WWE yet again, those Kong vs Kim matches a few years ago were fantastic and showed what she really can do.

The others they also weren't using a great deal. Out of them David Hart Smith is still young only just turning 25 3 days ago and he has the talent, would like to see Impact Wrestling give him a chance.

Shame about Kozlov, I thought he had great potential during his initial monster heel run on SmackDown, his career kind of fizzled out after he moved to ECW and got entrance music. Didn't realise he was 39 though, I guess there isn't much mileage left in him.
