| The only positives from tonight for us are the Juve result and the fact we only lost by the 1 goal.
Impressed by pretty much everything from Shaktar tonight. Awesome stadium, fantastic support, free flowing football. Just wish we hadn't made it so easy for them with the awful defending for the goals though.
At least the CL groups games will be more interesting this year. Qualification has been almost certain in every other campaign so it's refreshing to have to fight to get through.

Celtic have been absolutely brilliant tonight, Barcelona have been all over them for 94 minutes and haven't really created much at all and the winning goal was very unfortunate for Celtic, nothing they could really have done about that.
Where did Celtic dig up the boy Ambrose? He's a fantastic defender and could sort an errant Manchester United backline out sharpish on the evidence of tonight. 23/24 I believe from a mention on the TV at the weekend.'"
They signed hin this year from some Isreali team. Scored his first goal at the weekend and looks a top player, another fabulous spot by Lennon after Izagguire and Wanyama. Im a huge fan of Ambrose's fellow countrymen, Wanyama.

It's baffling though really, how does it make sense trying to solve division by creating MORE division? Clarke Carlisle, who inexplicably seems to be in a position of power seems to be against it at least.'"
I agree, and it would really hit the fan if a said black player was dropped for poor performances by a manager and he retaliated by using the race card and bought his union in?

Exactly, it has the potential of a real sh*tstorm. I have the feeling that a large percentage of black players would be fully against the idea to be honest, it would just be that small minority of players who will hide behind it. I STILL, and i NEVER will understand why there's a so-called necessity to have more black managers and coaches.

| Paul "I got 9 games for breaking a jaw but JT wasn't punished hard enough" Davis quit looking for a job in coaching because he wasn't given a job coaching a youth side at Arsenal when Steve Bould got the gig.
I can't understand why football clubs aren't bending over backwards to reward such stunning determination and desire to succeed.

| Peter Herbert has just been interviewed on Talksport, when he was questioned on whether white players could also form their own union, his response was 'they could, but that's already called the BNP'
Chip well-and-truly on shoulder much?

There was a certain irony to big-spending City, with all their big money stars, getting a good beating from a side which is basically a feeder club to vulture-type clubs like City are....
I think what is fairly obvious is that Mancini is a very average manager, who seems pretty much out of his depth at Champions League level.
What was interesting was that he again used his excuse that it was his fault, using the under-prepared line that he used at Everton in January.....I must say, if I had pumped the cash that City's owners have into the club, I'd at least want my manager to be able to prepare a side for a match, and not just when he can be d, or when he arrogantly feels the opposition warrant his full attention.

Mancini talks complete in his press interviews immediately after a defeat. Surprised anyone takes any notice of them. If you judged managers by the quality of their post match press conferences after defeats, Mancini would be fighting Wenger for a job the Conference.

Penalty for Liverpool and a dodgy red card for an Everton player on Sunday, anyone?'"
Don't know about the penalty, but we had a dodgy red card last week at QPR, so I'd be a bit miffed if we got another on Sunday.
Personally, I hate Merseyside derbies, we always let ourselves get dragged into all this 100mph, headless chicken stuff and, inevitably, we end up getting beat.
After the semi final defeat in April, I'm firmly of the belief that for Everton, it is definitely a pschyological problem now against Liverpool, because there is no way that Liverpool are a better side than us, which, from recent derbies, is the impression that may be given.
Saying that, I expect another dog's dinner of a game, and confidently predict a goalless draw.

Do you really believe the sh*te you come up with? It is your lot that continually make a dog's dinner of the derby. Your team very rarely come out and try to match us, let alone for 90 minutes. Moyes will do his usual stuff: pack the midfield, play for set plays and corners and try to physically bully Liverpool. We'll do our thing which will probably consist of a lot of quality football with fluffed chances galore.
I think it will be a good game with most of the threat being poses from set pieces by both sides. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet either.

....You actually just confirm what I said - Yes, I agree that we turn up and generally stink the place out and that's the whole point I was making.
Instead of doing what we are actually good at and what we do against any other team, against Liverpool we resort to playing the gallant underdog role and treat Liverpool like they are the Liverpool of the early 80's and not the very average side you have been in recent times....For me, this indicates a massive psychological flaw on both the side's and Moyes' part.
If we actually ignored the fact it was a derby, which of course is quite difficult, and simply played our own game, I'm pretty sure that we would come out on top, however, I just can't see that ever happening.

Not always true. Everton have been on the receiving end of some absolutely horrendous/borderline corrupt refereeing in the derby, especially at Goodison. I've just watched the 07/08 derby at Goodison on ESPN Classic. Liverpool were absolutely shocking but won with two penalties. Everton had two absolute stonewall penalties turned down including one in the final passage of play where Carragher dragged Lescott to the floor. Then you've got the Rodwell red card, which is still the most scandalous piece of refereeing I've ever seen.
I'm just waiting to see who will take Dirk Kuyt's role of winning derbies despite being utterly rubbish. I had Borini penned in for it, but he's not even playing.
