Looks like Cueto might be going to the DL. On the plus side Tony Cingrani has been on fire in AAA and the Reds look like they're going to promote his this week. Has something like 26 Ks in 14 innings. Got a ten game home stretch coming up so hoping to pick up plenty of wins from that.

Reds currently hitting .200 with 2 outs and RISP. 21st in the league that.

Stinking on my fantasy baseball this year. Ike Davis flopping lost me 40hr and 100rbi which I haven't been able to replace (been tripping between Loney, Lind, Alonso and a few other dunderheads).

On the plus side the Reds are still very much in the hunt. We've got a home heavy run-in with a four game series with the Cardinals before we close with a home and away series with the Pirates (final three at home). Apart from the Cardinals our road trips look good enough to break even on so we should be able to hang onto a wild card spot.

The Cardinals have a tough couple of weeks coming up but the final three weeks in September are against teams that will probably be out of the hunt. Pirates schedule is similar to our's. I quite fancy our chances from wild card though when there's no expectation. We've got the team to beat anybody if we fire, at the time same i.e. not like the usual offence great one day, abysmal the next.

Hotting up now. NL Central certainly is. We've taken the first of our series with the Cards before the Dodgers come to town and the Pirates (got six games left v them). Can't see us catching the Cards. They line-up is too potent to see them slip up against the sub-.500 teams they've got left to play after our series (16 of their 19 remaining games).

Realistically we're going to have to sweep the Cards to give us an outside shot of the division.

Three from four against the Cards. Great result. Hopefully the Pirates will take some more games of them to give us a chance of catching both next week. Cardinals have been hitting .326 with RISP which is leagues ahead of the next team, the Tigers (.284). Allen Craig went down injured during the series and Lance Lynn is struggling so perhaps they're unfolding as we speak

Don't agree with the 1 game playoff,yes if they're tied after 162 but not if they have a playoff spot.You battle for 6 months to get in then are out after 1 game.If fitting extra playoff games in is the problem then cut the season down to 156 or 158 games then make the wild card games at least the best of 3.As it is now 1 bad game and your out.

So Cards v Red Sox. Might tune in for a couple. Not the series I would have liked i.e. more exciting when there's teams that haven't won for a while in it. Also Cardinals suck.
