I'm sure you don;thave enough to spend £17 million on an pretty insignificant are of the team, of course it will turn out to be another amazing signing by Benitez, his theory that we spend more is really out the window now, even though it was utter shy'te before.
United + £80 million
Liverpool - £ 17 million

He seems to lack an end-product. Promising though.
On the subject of u21s, if England had a creative player, or at least someone in midfield who could pass the pass, they would be the best team in the tournament by a country mile.
Quote: Robbie Rotten "Is Danny Rose the former Leeds lad?'"
Yes he is. He joined Spuds a while ago.

He was our second choice. We tried to sign Kuyt because we thought it would be a great idea to buy the greatest defensive striker in the world.
If Santa Cruz stays fit, he will be a very good signing. He will be given a lot of ammo from our attacking players like Ireland, SWP and Robinho (and possibly Tevez) and from Gareth Barry's set-pieces. He may end up being a back-up striker.

Tonight Serbia vs Sweden; Belarus vs Italy.
Pretty much Italy plus 1 other, to play England and Germany in the semis. Spain are out.

| Got to love the comment from Yaya Toure's agent about Mascherano to Barcelona. When asked if it would be a problem he apparently responded with "Only for the Argentine."

Why is the Crouch situation relevant to the Johnson fee? Will they not pay pay you for Crouch unless you buy Johnson?

No but they didnt pay the money all in one go for Crouch therefore they owe us money so by buying a player off them it would make sense instead of them paying us more we would pay say 3 - 4mil less on the deal and call it quits on the Crouch future payments.

I think the Crouch fee would have been paid over the next two seasons, so instead of us having to wait to get that, we've cleared that off and given Pompey the rest for Johnson. If that money is coming straight out of this year's net budget, then it's only £10m net, I'm guessing.
As for your point Mark. I can't be bothered getting into the whole money and how much has been spent debate, there's so much that has to be taken into consideration. But Johnson is good and has potential to get better, it may seem inflated but when the top sides want to sign English players, they always have to pay more.

Interesting read only one more signing to come in is how I read it going to be interesting to see who Chelsea and Man U buy mostly Man U due to there team already weaker than last seasons - Ronaldo and Tevez.
