| FINALLY THE LOCKOUT IS OVER
After 3 long months the NHL lockout is over,it might take a few days to sort things out but it looks like a 10 year cba deal is in place The season will now be either 48 or 50 games starting a week on saturday so with the season shortened every game should be like a playoff game,6 months of great hockey to look forward to.

I'm going to wait until the players vote agreeing to the deal before I get really excited, but things are looking very promising.

| Hopefully in the next few hours the players will give the thumbs up to the new cba then we can get the schedules out and the season can begin.I see Eric Cole is the 1st player to come out and say they do not like the new cba and is threatening to retire after the season, all i can say is you'll not be missed Eric you can take the $ 26 million you've got so far in your mediocre career and dissapear.

| Bruins to win it all. Started off the post Tom Thomas early well with 3-1 over NYR.

And during that game, seen what quite possibly will be the save of the season by King Henrik, diving to his left to save a point blank shot.
Can't believe the officials even took it under review, everyone could see it never crossed the line! Still, 1st game, 1st loss, can only be upwards from here.
If we don't reach the playoffs this year, I can see Tortorella getting the can.

Been thinking that myself. Might subscribe next month when the RL is in full swing and my ESPN subscription expires.

| Great start to the season for the Blackhawks 2 wins,11 goals and Hossa and Kane looking like they could be back to their best. The n/m is still a worry.
In the East Pittsburgh have started well while Philly and NYR have lost both their games so far.
In the west St Louis thrashed Detroit who look like they'll miss Lidstrom a lot while the usual n/m controversy is happening in Vancouver.

It is indeed a great start by the Hawks and Hossa seems to have made full use of the lock out and come back ready willing and very able. The pleasing thing for me with the start so far is they have gone back to what they did so well in the Cup Winning year and that is rolling 4 lines rather than cutting to 2 & 3. This has meant the players are staying fresher in a game and can keep the energy and speed up which was lacking last season.
For me Emery is a worry as some of the goals he let in against the Yotes were awful, but that said netminders do start a little rusty until they have had games.
Big test is coming up againt the Blues who again look very strong with their Russian starlet Tarasenko starting his NHL career well with 5 pts from the first 2 games, the Hawks will have to watch him. Interesting to see Hitchcock naming Elliott as the starting n/m for the Blues tonight after pulling Halek in the 2nd period against the Preds, hope the Hawks pepper Elliott as with over 30 shots by the Blues in their first 2 games their offense is on it.
Should be a cracking a game.
Hawks have aquired Henrik Karlsson from the Flames for a draft pick and assigned him to Rockford.

| A big win for the Hawks downing the Blues 3-2 although they should have made it a little more comfortable after leading 3-0.
Crawford came up big when needed as the Blues for the 3rd game running put over 30 shots on goal.
