| I'm not well up on the track, but hasn't Shanaze been injured and has had trouble coming back up to speed? I know when she was with VP at the velodrome at the end of the worlds series a bit ago she really struggled from what I saw of her. I've always thought her changing from BMX to the track a strange move as she was awesome on the BMX. I suppose that the track has more potential for her though to market herself and make a living from cycling than the BMX will do.
There's a long way to go until London so being dropped now doesn't necessarily mean they are out of the reckoning. Geraint and Brad won't be at the worlds, but I'm sure they'll be at the Olympics. From what I've seen with the ladies starting to get slowly dominated by China GB need the most powerful ladies team they can from what I perceive to be a very small pool of potential riders

| And it took the honours, albeit Matt Goss rather than Cav.

| Superb ride by Goss. He weathered the late on attacks knowing that if he could keep on their wheels it was his for the taking being the most powerful sprinter in that bunch. Great end to a race split by a defining crash which split the main body (and contenders) of the peloton.
The Antipodeans are having a great start to the early season.

| Doh!!! If I'm going to say I fancy Boonen for a classic this year I really should have put money on him instead of Gilbert on Sunday!
Really thought for a while that Ian Stannard had it but he should have gone a bit sooner. Having said that it was a great effort and with Quick Step pulling on the front. Ah well - nearly.

| Not been to this thread for a while, and missed the cycling for the last week due to work. Gonna get back into watching the next couple of weeks though!
Also on the lookout for my new bike, of the mountain variety, after my old one was nicked from the "secure garage" at work, would love a road bike at some point but I love off roading and trails too much! Looking at spending between £400-600, spotted a couple of specialized I like in my budget and a few Kona's, all with hydro brakes and a decent frame/fork combo (good for add ons later) there is one "orange" in my price range but its there cheapest model, so tempted though!!!
(sorry if you all out roadies get offended by my MTB talk!!)

| I'm not the person to ask about mountain bikes I'm afraid although I always thought that Gary Fisher were a reasonably priced bike.
As a Halifax lad I'd have to recommend Orange seeing as they're manufactured in the town.
