| I'm going to Riga for the weekend so won't get to see a potentially division defining series at the Cards which starts tomorrow. Not posting anything for fear of cursing the Reds.
Great article about Strasburg's injury rlhererl which underlines Chapman's potential indirectly as well.

| 2010 NL Central Champions! Get in!
Haven't posted for a while in case I cursed the Reds. Now they're champs and I can post away. Great season no matter what happens in the postseason. Getting a winning record was brilliant but the win the division exceeds my own expectations.
I'm not expecting much from the postseason because we've been battered a bit by our likely opponents and with H2O a possibility just to win a postseason game would be great. You never know though because I was reading somewhere that the highest seeded team in the NL has gone out five times in the first round over the past decade and only one has reached the World Series since 2004. All to play for really then.

Great stuff considering you have the more favoured Cubs and Cardinals in your division. Good luck inthe playoffs. I can see us struggling as we've been awful the past month. New season now though.

| The AL playoffs are going to be very interesting. All 4 teams have been less than convincing towards the end of September. It really is anybodys at this point I think.
Just watching the Giants-Pads game right now. Exciting stuff happening in the NL.
I'm shouting for the Reds in the post season, although I do hope Halladay does well in his starts.
As for the Jays, we surprised a few people this season and ended up 10 games better than 2009. It was definitely the year of the long ball for us. Bautista finishing on 54 HRs (a new club record by some margin), John Buck and Johnny Mac also had career high HR numbers this year. We also finished with a new club record for team HRs (257) which ties us for 3rd on the all time list. Finally we hit 20+ HRs from every single position. We were certainly a lot of fun to watch but I'm hoping for a bit more balance in the offence next year.
As for the starting rotation, it surprised the hell out of a lot of people this year, me included. Marcum, Romero, Cecil and Morrow all look like the real deal and I can only imagine that next year they'll be even stronger. We have healthy competition for that 5th spot too.
Biggest questions marks are 1B, 3B and catcher. Not sure what move AA is going to make regarding those positions. Will be an intersting off-season. But in the meantime, GO REDS!!! (and Doc)

| Yes, it was amazing and I thank my lucky stars that I got to watch Doc pitch for 4 years. It still sucks that the rest of the baseballing world are just waking up to what an amazing pitcher he is. He's been this good for years but being in Toronto tends to put a player (even one as good as Doc) off the radar of the US sports networks.
I think I actually enjoyed Lincecum's CG shoutout even more than Doc's no hitter. He's just so much fun to watch. 14ks and 12 of them swinging.
I think I may have to switch my post season support from the Reds to the Giants. I mean, how on earth can I truely root for a team called the Reds? It just doesn't sit right.

Good because you've cursed us
Watched Friday's game and it was a nightmare. Threw the game away after getting at Oswalt. I was gutted when Bruce missed a relative sitter to tidy things up when we were in the lead. Can't see us winning tonight but I'll be tuning in, in hope.

| Yep, looks like I cursed the Reds - sorry Mike!
Struggling to contain my excitement over the first NLCS game and a Halladay - Lincecum showdown. I'm definitely on Team Timmy for this one.

| They should be able to arrange their rotation now so Cliff Lee pitches the opening game.

| Great match up. One team that's never won a World Series and another which hasn't won in over fifty years. Game on.

| This season is the most interested I've been in post season baseball. The Giants-Phillies series was just fantastic entertainment, plus I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Rangers show the Yankees up. I'll be cheering for San Fran mostly because I love Lincecum, plus Brian Wilson's beard is just immense and Madison Bumgarner has one of the best names in baseball. But really I don't mind who wins, I just want it to go to 7.
