I assume he's going to duck out of the game on Saturday as well. If not, his timing is really strange.

I'd lose a lot of respect for Bridge if he does anything. My bet is that he will shake his hand whilst looking at the floor at the weekend and that there will be nothing but professional performances from them both.
I do hope he does a Keane on him, would make for interesting TV viewing.
Apparantly the England squad voted to keep Terry in the squad following Capello's decision to ban the WAGS. They didn't want him being left at home for a month with their WAGS. It'll be interesting to see what things are like against Egypt, will the likes of Barry have an issue or just ignore it?

It's got absolutely f-ck all to do with him. There won't be a problem.
I'm glad Bridge has quit. There should be no problems within the team now. Had he gone, I think there would have been a 50/50 split in the camp. Team Terry - Team Bridge. Which would have just been typical of us.

Another player who is playing out of his skin at the moment but who won't be picked because his commercial personna isn't big enough is Leon Osman. He's been outstanding recently.'"
Are you and Everton fan by any chance?
Baines is not better than Bridge at all. Don't be daft. Even Capello the other day said that Bridge and Cole are the best two English left-backs. I'd take his judgement ahead of yours

I'd rather it be de Jong as the Dutchman would cut Terry in two

I will credit you for your humour.
Milner has played several games in midfield while Arshavin has been forced to play out of position because of Van Persie's injuries.
If we are going to go on stats, Anderson is the worst 'attacking' midfielder in the history of the Prem. How many Prem goals has he scored?
Quote: mutt1 "Bridge should never have been picked again after his total mare against Croatia a few years back'"
If managers made decisions using that logic, then Gary Neville would never have reached 10 caps.
Sgain, I point you in the direction of what Capello said. Bridge is/was rated by Mourinho, Sven and Capello. Sorry, who are you?

But you won't take Alex Ferguson's judgement ahead of your own on right wingers? He doesn't seem to bad at that manager malarkey so I'm going to take his opinion of yours.

Fair enough.
Just when has Bridge made all these star performances though? His girlfriend had more interaction with the first team than he did there. Something like 80 games in 6 years there.
He signs for City, not playing well enough to warrant a call up IMO then retires from playing for England. He's hardly playing in a way that suggests England would miss him and IMO he wouldn't be under consideration by Capello had he not been playing for Chelsea. He certainly hasn't lived up to the promise he showed early on in his career.
Baines is playing brilliantly and is fully fit. His performances in the victories over Man City, Chelsea and Man United were fantastic. Their wide players got very little change from him and he was very involved going forward too. I don't see what more he has to do. If he carries his form on until the end of the season I don't see how he could fail to be in the squad. If the World Cup was next week he'd surely be playing. Cole will obviously be first choice if he gets back from his injuries and the devestation of losing Miss Tweedy.
