Congratulations on promotion to NWCFL1.
Should be interesting when you play St Helens Town. It's really strange watching football at Knowsley Road.

And if anyone knock's Saints crowds they want to have a look at Town.
They always have been the worst supported club in the league, even when I used to watch them almost twenty years ago.
23 they got for the last game!

TBH it's not surprising. St Helens is a rugby league town and the local-ish football teams are Everton and Liverpool.
I'm surpirised they haven't got into financial difficulties though. How do they a profit and pay wages?

TBH though their games are not very well publicised in and around the town are they?

Town have got themselves in financial difficulties on numerous occasions.
Every time they build up a team that looks like challenging at the top end of the table they end up having to release the lot of them.
They even won the FA Vase in 1987 then three months later there wasn't a single player of that team still at the club.
Mismanagement amongst the Town board is legendary.
I'll be surprised if they don't take voluntary relegation to the St. Helens Combination and end up playing on a local park within the next few years.

| No more rlGravesend & Northfleetrl.
I should worry. 2 games from Wembley.... Nerves beginning to jangle, especially given our record when we've been live on Sky.

| Bradford Park Avenue got hammered 3-0 at Eastwood Town last night to go out of the Unibond League play-offs.
A major blow to their plans of world domination.

| It's the North West Counties Football League Challenge Trophy Final tomorrow night. FC United of Manchester v. Curzon Ashton FC... At Curzon Ashton!
Should be a good game, best two teams in the league by far. I just hope we can get a result, don't want the season to end on a downer after all of this.

I remember going to the NWCFL Cup Final at Gigg Lane in 1988. Colwyn Bay lost 3-1 to Warrington Town.
It was an interesting evening. There were around 350 there. 300 were from Colwyn Bay, and about 250 of those ripped the ground to pieces when Warrington went 2-0 up after about ten minutes.
A year later the same two teams met again. The crowd was about 302. About 300 from Colwyn Bay and me and the St. Helens Town secretary tucked safely away at the other end of the ground, with crash helmets on!
