Quick update, Celtic looked poor yesterday and Riordan finally got a chance when Zurawski limped off injured yet again. Celtic won 1-0 with a Riordan goal against Motherwell.
The team cannot motivate themselves when the league was won at Halloween.
I am annoyed with the way the team are playing in tactics. The defending is way too deep and our defenders are forever standing off, rather than pushing up like they were at the start of the season. Hesselink and Riordan should have been up front all season and Miller who is not a striker should have been battling for a place on the wing as he would be better in this position.
Anyway, one more win in the SPL and that's it. I think we should be really cocky though and purposely give our youth players the chance of experience until we play at Ibrox and win the league there or of course we could play the rest of the season with ten men, giving Lennon a errr.... much needed break.
Lennon should be at the end now, but he'll want another season out of us for sure. He's way past it and I don't enjoy watching the team with him in central midfield anymore.
The midfield is poor, Nakamura looks lost without Telfer as they both had a good understanding, Neil Lennon is Neil Lennon, although I've always liked him. Gravesen adds a much more direct approach to the midfield and he wouldn't be walking the ball into the net like the team seem to think they have to. Jarosik's been awful, despite his debut against Kilmarnock in August. McGeady's been amazing all season.
The defence is okay, but nothing special. Wilson and Naylor both look good when pushing forward, although they looked too nervy in the big stages, Milan mainly. Our central defence is okay, although a bit rusty at times. The defence needs seriously strengthening, the centre primarily for next season. A touch of class is definitely needed and what's happened to this Doumbe we signed? No one knows....
In conclusion to my post, what is definitely needed to strengthen our team is...
A few decent centre backs, maybe a full back also.
A midfielder with a direct approach like Gravesen.
A striker to go with Hesselink, someone with his understanding and he could fight for a place with Riordan.
Anyway, that's everything really, just lots of crap I could think of noted down in no particular order.
