still not convinced about Bale believe it or not ! a fine footballer who needs better players, like Luca around him and Modric looked good with Parker as the workhorse so it'll be good to see how he blends in with his new team mates - big game for AVB who really is a man under pressure

I've always seen Gareth Bale as a "hack it forward and hope I'm quicker" type player as opposed to someone who takes you on with skill like a Ronaldo or a Robben type.

yeah, see what you mean but when he uses his pace he looks a dangerous player but seems to lack the confidence to take players on since he won footballer of the year IMO - that's why it's refreshing to see players like Sterling not afraid to have a go

unfortunately I come from an era when real wingers and attacking FBs like Terry Cooper were ten a penny and the lack of such players today takes so much out of the game - are the players not capable or are these qualities coached out of them at an early age ?
