Laver won the gand slam in the early 60's, then missed out for several years when he turned pro, then won the grand slam again when the game went open. Its fair to say he would have been streets ahead of Sampras & Federer but for that missing period. |

I think both the Aus and US opens were on grass, with France being the odd one out, as that's always been on clay.
As for the greatest, I'm another who still thinks it's Laver, because of the amount of slams he missed due to turning pro. |

It's conjecture. Laver doesn't have the slam titles, federer does. |
