It's a long-since-busted myth.'"
It isn't though, not always. Every player can take a while to settle in, all of the players you named have only played one game in the league! Do you remember how Deco started and finished? What about Elano? David Silva took time to adjust to England, as did Modric. If I felt it wouldn't take him time, I wouldn't have said it, but I feel with Sahin - especially given how little he's played for the past twelve months - it will take him a bit of time to settle into the ridiculously industrious play. It happens with a lot of new players, yeah, they can play it about and show their skill, but will they be sharp enough for every intercept, every loose flick on, etc.? I really like him and don't think it will take him too long to settle in with us, but it will take a few weeks and a few starts.

Yeah, it'll take a while before all those tricks and flicks and ball retention are forgotten and kick-and-rush becomes the new mantra. I don't buy it.
There have been plenty of internal transfers that haven't worked out and nobody bats an eyelid. But take someone from outside the league and suddenly it's a huge deal. Nope. Not having it.
Point taken about Sahin's lack of football recently, but he's come from one of the fastest, hardest pressing teams in Europe. If you want ridiculous industry, Dortmund are it.

Absolutely agree on the first point, I've said before that signing from England represents just as big a risk as it does from signing abroad. The point is, I think Sahin is the type of player that will take a while to adjust. He's a top player, of that there is no doubt, but I think it will take him time. Get over it.

Hazard's looked excellent so far, but we're only two games into the season - Games against Wigan and Reading. Hardly the right time to say we've moved from out of Mourinho's shadow.
I think Di Matteo has Mourinho's shadow still over him, along with Roman's and Guardiola. If Di Matteo comes close to Mourinho's PL record, playing "good" football then he'll be out of anyone's shadow and hopefully secure in his position, but he's patently not there yet.

Do you not think they might play him up front instead of Torres? It's a very strange signing, I just can't understand why they've signed him. The previous signings this summer had all been following a pattern of excellent technical players, players who could arguably play a similar way to Barcelona. Moses doesn't seem to fit that and seems if anything too similar to Daniel Sturridge, very pacey but still very raw.
Talk on twitter tonight that Everton have also signed another player. Unprecedented scenes if that is true.

Sturridge has pretty much never been given that chance, even when Torres was stinking out the place.
I can't say I've seen anywhere near enough of Moses to begin to judge him, but I think he might be a small insurance policy against Torres misfiring again. Just having Torres and Sturridge isn't enough, we didn't get close to signing any of the bigger name strikers we were looking at, so we opted for Moses, who has the benefit of being home grown.

Strange signing still, he's a decent player from what I've seen but I can't see him ever being good enough to start every week for a top 4 club.

Agreed. You need two feet normally to play with champions not one peg.

Looks like Torres is getting his goalscoring instincts back recently.

| How poor are Stoke???...
I never like to slate sides over their style of play, but Stoke don't have a single, positive redeeming feature to their football - Its the ugliest, most negative sort of football i've ever witnessed and their players are so lacking in any talent, its unbelievable.
If there is any justice, they will hopefully be found out and be relegated back to the Championship.

| Should Liverpool win today people shouldn't go overboard...they always do this against big sides.
Lets see if they can tough it out against lesser teams on a regular basis.
