No, I just dislike priviledge. The inequalities in our society are a great evil which should be addressed. When even how long someone will live can be partly decided by their social class, then something is wrong.

Way of the world i'm afraid.
Youre privileged to use a computer. Plenty of folk out there who'd like one but cant afford one, are you going to give them yours?

| Come on Tim!
Thought he did well to close out the match today and he has a chance of getting past Lopez I think it is in th next round.
I think it would be great if he could get to the second week and put up a good show for the crowd because it could be his last Wimbledon.
Federer won't drop a set all tournament imo.

If ya a top player you have honours. So now saying I was number 4 in the world on such a week ranks how along side grand slams?
How is monty a good golfer after bottling 50+ majors without a victory?
so love the henman thing though
well done henman for being a bum.

| Not really sure how the Monty converstaion got on the Wimbledon thread but here's my 2peneth.
Both Monty and Tenmen have reached the pinacle of their chosen sport in terms of how many people try and fail to get to the level they have both performed at. However, neither has ever been world class, they have had occasional bursts of inspiration which has almost won them MAJOR titles (The Ryder Cup is a team game). Tenmen, I feel was the unluckier of the pair, he always seemed to be in the same half of the draw as pistol Pete at the top of his game(at Wimbledon anyway). We will not be reading about either of them in the tennis or golf book of legends in 50 years time!

The Ryder Cup is a team game where the best 12 (?) players in Europe are chosen either on merit or by the captain. If Montgomery gets in the team of the best 12 European male golfers and has an outstanding record in Ryder Cups and comes close to winning majors on a few occasions, most notably last year's US Open, how can he be described as not being "world class". Montgomery also won something like 6 consecutive European orders of merit. For some reason, whatever it maybe, he's never won a major, but to argue that he's never been a world class golfer is b*llocks surely, especially if you use the argument that it's a team game - is Lionel Messi therefore not a world class footballer? Are you arguing that Paul Lawrie, Todd Hamilton or Ben Curtis are better golfers than Montgomerie purely because they've won 1 major each, but probably missed dozens of cuts and not even qualified for others?
Similarly Henman, for all his limitations, has been to 4 Wimbledon semis and has been as high as number 4 tennis player in the world, so I don't see how it can be argued that he's never been world class.

| french open and us open semi-finalist too...one of only 4 people to beat federer at wimbledon (admittedly fed was probably about 14!)...top 10 in the world rankings for well over 5 years
he may have lacked that cutting edge when he needed it, but to say he has been rubbish/cr@p/a bottler is absolute tripe...as green mist says, just to count major titles above all else is folly...was gaston gaudio a better player than henman? same with thomas johansson? andres gomez? albert costa? carlos moya? krajicek? not a chance...but they've all won one major so they must be hey?

Or maybe he's made more of the talent he had to get to the stages he's got to, rather than choked. He's lost every one of his Wimbledon semis to the guy who eventually won the title. I'm not really a tennis or a Henman fan, but I think he deserves a bit of credit for what he actually has achieved in the game, he's been the best British player for decades if nothing else.
