Good old Terry! Still I hope he comes over for the TNA tour of England next month. Never seen the Hulkster in the flesh, Brother.

| Mostly, the interview with Hogan is his usual self-agrandising, however his answer to the question
[iHulk, if there was one thing you could change about the wrestling industry at this point in time what would it be? How will Hulk Hogan revolutionize the wrestling industry yet again?
[/i
Well, the one thing I would change and I'm going to change is..I hate the writers. I cannot stand that they have a writing team sitting in the back telling the wrestlers what to say and telling the wrestlers what to do in the ring. That's one of the reasons why I went to TNA because the other promotion that's what they're all about - scripting the verbiage and scripting the matches and telling the wrestlers what to do. They have a team of writers in the back that don't understand this business, that have never been to the big show, that have never been in the big main events. All the writers are either wrestlers that are midcard wrestlers or they were family members that were handed a pen and paper and told, "You've learned what you've learned from our family now keep writing". They've never learned the wrestling business from being in the middle of the ring in the main event in front of 20, 30, 40, 90 thousand people.
if what he means by that is that promos will be less scripted and more on the fly then i'm all for it. one of the big problems with wwe at the moment is the over scripting of the promos. the guys aren't allowed to be themselves like they used to be when you had guys like Foley, Austin and Rock. it's just the same cookie cutter promo from every guy
Also, I loved the bit about Austin just ignoring him. I think that's mainly due to a simple thing: Austin doesn't NEED to wrestle any more. He made his money during his hot period and had that wisely invested. Unlike Hogan who has an ex wife to pay for, a talentless daughter's "singing" career to bank roll and a son who can't drive and thinks he's a driver (side note Nick Hogan had another crash recently, and the irony is he was coming home from a safe driving talk )

Can't see it unfortunately mate, don't think he's been over for any UK tour since a WWF one in 1993!

The fact that TNA feel the need to bring him in, shows the state that TNA is in. Its not a threat to WWE. Never has been. Never will be.

Why? Do you think people didnt already know about TNA but now Hogan is there they do?
Surely the same thing was being said when Foley went to TNA. Granted, your average joe blogs will know who hogan is more than foley, but its still not going to make him want to watch it.
I mean, just before WWE bought WCW, WCW was in a right mess. Why? Because the wrestlers were left to their own devices when it comes to promos. They had to make their own up and it was car crash TV and this is what Hogan wants to do again? The guy has lost the plot. I think Im right in saying that only one man in WWE was allowed full control over his promos and that was the rock. But he could because he was just so good at it.
There is only one way TNA will be able to compete with WWE and that is buy unearthing someone or somebodies, with the Charisma and originality that make people want to watch it, in the same way WCW did with NWO. Only your hardcore fans watch wrestling for the moves and the wrestling ability. The majority of "fans" prefer the soap opera element.

Erm, im going off what Hogan said in the linked interview and as for your second sentence, HELLO, thats what Hogan sounds like he wants to do. He doesnt want any writers. He wants the wrestlers to do their own stuff.

TNA has just been WCW-lite.
Hogan genuinely thinks that he is going to attract millions of viewers and talent to TNA just because he did it in 1996 for WCW. The thing is that the world has moved on since 1996 and he is no longer the number 1 wrestling name on the planet.
If, say, John Cena were to 'do a Hogan' and jump ship, maybe it'd have the impact Hogan did for WCW, but that hasn't happened. As noted elsewhere, when Angle jumped, it didn't do much to boost ratings.

Not every big superstar but every aging big superstar IMO. By this I mean if they'd pushed slightly younger guys who had a longer career ahead like Goldberg, Jericho and Raven, they might have had a chance of surviving, but when you're having Hogan v Flair as your main event for the umpteenth time people will get bored.
IMO Hogan would be a great signing for publicity, brand development etc if he was just coming in as an advisor, General Manager or something, but got a horrible feeling he was build his power there and end up having a major say in everything that goes on, which could be bad for TNA (noticed how he's already getting more TV time then many young wrestlers and he's not even fully appeared yet?! ).
And, don't be supposed if he beats AJ for the title in 30 seconds like he did to the late, great Yokozuna.
Believe it or not, I am actually still a Hulkamaniac though!
