The first half wasn't so bad. We generally outplayed them, Suarez looked lively and it felt like we were the more likely to score. Gerrard, like a lot of the players, was very hot and cold. Getting involved and looking dangerous, only to play a pass five yards behind his team mate. It clearly wasn't the start we needed, the red card was daft, the second penalty unfortunate but it happens, I just don't want Rodgers to bury his head in the sand and think things will suddenly improve. Downing has been at this level for years, he is the epitome of mediocre, he really shouldn't waste any time hoping to fit him in. Carroll is similar, he isn't going to play so cut our losses and get rid, he is hopeless.

IMO, we are desperate for a striker. Suarez is capable of so much but he's lost his shooting boots since he's been here, the moment we find a good partner for him is the moment results like today become a thing of the past.
