I wasn't alive for that goal, in England, he'll always be remembered for that, but just as many people I know speak about the other goal he scored that game.

I remember Henry ruining his reputation by diving outrageously against Wigan and then going on to score and shoving the ball in the goalkeepers direction in order to gloat. Tremendous player but a complete .

yes but he is more famous for the hand of god goal. the wonderful goal he scored in that game pails into insignificance compared to what else he did.

Maradona is regarded by many as the greatest player to play the game, I know what you mean by the hand of God being a big memory, but he'll always be regarded as one of the best, same with Henry. It's a controversial moment and they're often remembered more than the good times, but I don't think people will forget the greatness of Henry because of this, similarly with Maradona.

Absolute divs, or should I say absolute ENGLISH divs, will say that Maradona's handball goal overshadows everything else he did.

What Henry did would have been done by pretty much every player playing the game. He was chasing the ball, the bounce of the ball was taking it out of play, it virtually fell into his hand and he instinctively used his hand to keep the ball in play.

Any player would have willingly done it if it took their side to the World Cup.

Divs will say this will overshadow what Henry's achieved, but that's because they are divs.

recall an incident a few years ago. a different scenario but still sportsmanship.

the goalkeeper was down on the ground injured outside the area and a player crossed the ball into Di Canio who caught the ball instead of putting the ball into an open net.

the bottom line you can say what you want but i bet that for years to come Henry will be remembered for that alot- you know its true because the Maradona incident still gets brought up now.
