| Danny mate have to disagree with Cena turning heel been similar to Hogan's - that move changed pro wrestling for ever. It led to much better and more adult-oriented storylines as WCW and WWF fought to out-do each other, and really it revolutionised the business. A Cena turn would be good, but IMO it wouldn't have anywhere near as much impact as Hogan's did, although it would have been more effective for Cena if they'd done it a few years ago, but it's all about money (merchandise) to WWE.

| Can't really compare Hogan and Cena, pro wrestling is a completely different game now than back in Hogans era.

Totally agree bud, just wish someone would tell Hogan that.

| Back then, wrestling was wrestling.
Now, its more like a situation drama, with a couple of matches chucked in around the bad acting and shouting fests in the ring. Was only born in 88 so didn't see any of the 80s wrestling til I managed to get hold of some old video tapes but I would rather watch that over any 'modern' wrestling except maybe the Stone Cold-Rock era.

Started watching it in '91 when WWF had great wrestlers like Bret Hart, Mr Perfect, The Rockers etc so know exactly what you mean.
What really pi$$es me off these days is the goldfish bowl the WWE lives in - they're so dismissive of anyone who's worked in other countries/promotions, so the first thing they feel they have to do when they sign a world-class, world-travelled performer like CM Punk or Brian Danielson is teach them 'how to work'.
Speaking of Danielson, been watching some old NXT clips tonight, they really were idiots for sacking that guy.

| Yeah, Vince likes to think all of his guys are the best instead of giving others a chance.

Well it's their loss. Let the "Daniel Bryan...." chants continue till they hopefully see sense and bring him back.

Wasn't he suspended?

Well what I read was that they released him from his contract after he choked announcer Justin Roberts with his own tie on the show-closing angle on Raw a month or so ago where the NXT guys trashed the set/beat up Punk, Cena etc. Apparantly he just went too far in the beat-up with the tie because in the PG era that they're in it was deemed 'too violent' for TV/kids. Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me, because for as long as I've been watching it choking has happened all the time e.g.:
Ring ropes
Tag ropes
Wrist tape
TV cable on the outside of the ring
etc etc
All Bryan did was give 100% effort and contribute to a fantastic angle. They're pathetic if you ask me, letting one of the best wrestlers in the world go just because of that. He would (like CM Punk) have been a perfect employee - Bryan doesn't smoke, drink, do drugs or anything, but for some reason it seems they were determind to find a reason to get rid of him.
Went on SmackDown v Raw 2010 last night, must say at the moment 2009 seems better.
Oh, and how scary does CM Punk look bald?!!

He's clearly upset someone backstage. He's a shawn michaels trained wrestler and apparantly michaels was not happy about the firing.

| The reason he was released for choking with the tie is that that's what He Must Must Not Be Mentioned (Benoit) did.
Though he was welcomed back at indy feds with open arms & rl2rl

| PG certificate wrestling = crap.
Could get away with that sort of stuff donkeys years ago and make it work very nicely but now, it just doesn't work. You can't play around with a product and alter the content level as you please.

| Yeah you could get away with doing more in those days .. Out of the whole WCW roster in 2001 that was under 40 years old, (35 of them), 21 are dead. Stats are worse with those over 40.
Virtually everyone that came out of the powerplant is an industry casualty.
