| 8 year contract or no 8 year contract, Pardew needs to go.
Looks like he's lost the respect of a majority of the senior players, as they're just going through the motions as if they're already on holiday - when they've got games left to play, massive games which will be the difference between relegation and survival. Pardew's tactics have also been terrible; Cabaye behind the front man? Sissoko on the wing? Jonas on the pitch?
No goals scored in the past two home league games and nine conceded. One decent half at WBA, and one crap one. One decent half out of the last 6 halves in the league, completely unacceptable.

I'll nick a mate's joke here:
Is Redknapp known as 'Harry Houdini' because hiring him like getting a punch in the stomach that you never recover from?

I hope you're not referring to the court case when you refer to Harry Redknapp as a fraud ?

| I don't buy this "lost the dressing room" stuff that gets trotted out about managers.
If players have basically stopped trying because they don't like the person they are working for, then that's a problem in the character of the players rather than the manager.
Newcastle's problem is that they overachieved last year. On the back of that, Pardew has then gone out and spent money on some pretty mediocre players from what is - PSG apart - a pretty mediocre league. Not only do they appear to be technically and tactically suspect, but psychologically too. Debuchy's obvious attempts to get himself sent off at the weekend are a prime example.
Where Newcastle are in the league right now is probably 4-5 places below where you would expect that group of players to be, but that's all IMO. They're not a top six side by any stretch of the imagination, they probably don't have a single player that a top six club would want if they put them all on the list tomorrow.

Krul and maybe Cabaye, but that's about it. Ba's departure was a huge blow for them IMO, especially with Cisse's purple patch of last year looking more and more a freak run of form.

| On Redknapp, if he manages to get most pf he mercenaries out and put a decent championship squad together while preparing QPR for the prem ala West Ham and Newcastle.... Id argue he would have done a good job tbh.

If Redknapp does that next season he will have done a good job. But that's next season. THIS season, IMO he's sucked ass. He came in on great money to save QPR from relegation. There was never any moment when it looked like he'd actually do that job. In fact pretty soon after he came in he was pointing to the players, telling people how much money they were on, and saying QPR had been mugs for buying the players they did.
This season I think Redknapp has stolen his wages just as bad as the overpaid players.
Getting rid of overpaid players who don't care about their performances is going to be almost impossible. It makes it even harder when you're the one who's been telling everyone what a bunch of mercenaries they are.
From everything that's been written, I think QPR have saddled all the players on stupid money and haven't protected themselves in the event of relegation. They might get lucky with the sale of a couple, but they're either stuck with most of them or they're taking a huge hit to get them out of the door.
For me Hughes and Redknapp have done nothing that would not have been done under Warnock except waste tens of millions of pounds doing it.
I don't think that there should be any sympathy anywhere for QPR. The owner is a fool who has shown himself up - he's a West Ham fan who wanted to buy a shareholding in WHU. Well that pooch is well and truly screwed. They seem to excel at employing terrible managers. They've bought a bunch of bad players. Their 10,000 fans are a bunch of s. Quite frankly they have been a waste of a PL place and hopefully they will disappear to their natural level of fighting with Brentford.

| Good post LGJM.
In the few weeks leading up to the relegation confirmation, all we had from pundits was 'well, he didn't have the whole season, he's inherited the mess of previous managers'' etc, but i'm sorry, this season he was in charge of QPR for TWICE the amount of time that he wasn't in charge of them, and he did, let's not forget, bring in Samba on stupid wages, and Remy, who i doubt was on pittance. I've nothing against QPR at all, and i feel genuinely sorry for the fans, who probably saw this overspending coming if 'Arry took over and probably feared the worse.

An interesting piece and fair piece too from you there but you went and spoiled it with certain comments in your last paragraph by once again bypassing certain filters again which really is unnecessary and to refer to QPR fans in that way as a bunch of lovers. I bet you don't know any personally but it is easy to hide behind a keyboard isn't it and say these things ? My lot certainly haven't covered themselves with glory and the names of those I can mention who are guilty are many especially with the wages they'll have been on and they should be ashamed of themselves but I doubt that will be happening one little bit. Just remember where Chelsea might have been without the money of Mr. Abramovich because I remember when Chelsea were not exactly covering themselves with glory either and I hope you appreciate what he's brought to your club in regards to great players.

| Mourinho, completely outclassed by a coach who shows that you don't have to spend hundreds of millions to win, that you don't have to grind your way to the CL final, and you don't have to be a classless POS to gain an edge over your opponent, sometimes good old fashioned tactics will do the job. So glad he never reached the final with that Madrid side.
