It was clearly a red card offense. Not sure whether the FA can deal with it after the MacManaman precedent. Ironically if Aguero were to accept a ban the first match he would miss would be against Wigan.

It's all down to whether any of the officials say they saw it or not. If one of them says they saw the incident then the FA will say their hands are tied, "because we don't want to be seen re-refereeing games". If all the officials say they missed the incident and Foy says he would have sent Aguero off if he'd seen it, then they'll charge him.

Personally I think that the FA needs to grow a pair and accept the duty of disciplining players who have escaped punishment. I think the present rules only allow them an excuse to not punish a player who deserves punishment. If a blatant red card offence has been committed, but the ref says he saw the offence and thought it was perfectly fine, then the ref needs to be questioned about why they're not punishing red card offences. They shouldn't just be sat on their hands saying there's nothing they can do.

No further action because a free-kick was awarded which means it's thought to have been dealt with at the time.
I'd have less of an issue with that - only slightly less as it's still absurd - if it was applied consistently.

If they don't want to "re-referee" games then WTF is the dubious goals panel all about? They let people rule on nothing decisions about who gets credit for goals but won't allow two footed lunges and career threatening challenges to be ruled on.

Hopefully the stupid Chelsea board will take a look at the utter shafting we've been getting for years and realise if you don't stand up for yourself this is how you get treated. Foy's refereeing of Chelsea has been an utter joke. Jose wouldn't have stood for the **** we've put up with for years. The stupid Chelsea board thought that it was Jose that was at fault, but they've screwed us over for years even after Jose's been gone.

Not banning Aguero actually helps us, because it means he'll play Tottenham and hopefully play a part in Spurs losing. But this nonsense over their selectively charging people is a pathetic joke. It's an abdication of their responsibilities. If ref's don't like their decisions being questioned then they need to simply make better decisions.

They do need to change the rule. Just because a ref sees part of an incident, albeit the wrong bit, shouldnt rule out a review. It would be strange if none of the officials saw any part of an incident. Really they should have asked Foy if he would have stuck with his decision if he'd had a clear view of the challenge.

But they're going to have to leave it until next season though. Once they'd ruled that Macmanaman's challenge couldn't be reviewed they were stuck with that interpretation for the rest of this season

Possibly, but neither of them had much to go at tonight. Giroud was at full stretch for one he toe poked wide and he was offside twice for the one Coleman cleared off the line. There was only really the one he skied he should really have done better with.

Anichebe is terrible and always has been. But he does an important job in games like that just running around a lot.

will be interesting if moyes ever does get a big job, as he will be expected to have the tactics to go and win at the likes of the emirates, instead of filling the park with big men and soaking up all the pressure.

Has there ever been a team with a bigger victim mentality than Arsenal? Big bunch of cry babies. Jack Wilshire is the worst, he was shocking tonight, completely bossed by Fellaini and Barkley in Everton's midfield. He looked like Paul Wellens flapping his arms around at the referee every time they took the ball of him. He seems to have an overbearing sense of entitlement and can't take anyone going anywhere near him. He was appealing for elbows left, right and centre and I would have loved to see him actually get one.

Everton are just a centre mid and a world class forward away from being a very good team. Hopefully that team survives the end of the season and is given the opportunity to build.

He's just missing the individual or two you need to win a game like that. Throw a Van Persie up front for Everton tonight and they'd have won.
