| Quote Roddy B="Roddy B"Hardly a full on swing, was it? Don't recall Scholesy's character coming into question after he took a swing at Xabi. Did Scholes ever explain why he did that?
Compare the tone of [url=http://redflagflyinghigh.com/2011/07/blogs/video-paul-scholess-top-five-moments-of-madnessthis article[/url to the tone of the comments regarding Suarez and some of his antics. The person that wrote it sums it up perfectly: You'd be hard pressed to find anybody in football that finds Scholes dirty because everybody buries their heads in the sand and ignores every single bad thing he does. He's had the most preferential treatment from referees of any player I've ever watched, yet I've probably seen one of his shockers replayed once after he's done it, purely because they'll do everything they can to preserve the great image of Paul Scholes.'"
A well balance argument with no bias at all.......
In other news, Paul Ince has said their should be a mangers sacking window. Do we agree? I think some managers should be given more time but at the end of the day if a chairmen thinks the club are fulfilling their potential then he has every right to sack him surely? That said, their have been some very harsh sackings this year.

| dont think there should be a 'sacking window' tbh, it would be an absolute free-for-all.
cant see anything changing the way some of these trigger happy chairmen operate.

| Presumably if Ince wants a "sacking window" he'll also be in favour of managers not being able to drop underperforming players outside set dates?

I think most people would admit Scholes is a poor tackler, I am not aware he has a reputation for spitting, biting, stamping, using insulting words towards players of different ethnicity or hair pulling though, and those may be traits that go before poor Luis, even if they are all signs of affection in Uruguay

Personally I think Paul Ince is just showing that he doesn't have the required intelligence to be able to manage if he cannot think that through properly.
As a young manager in the game he should actually be happier that there is a high turnover of managers. If his stupid suggestion was enforced and the manager who starts the season has to manage all year, then no club is going to take a risk on a Paul Ince are they? They are going to stick with the proven manager who isn't going to relegate them.
Just look at Paul Ince's managerial record and them imagine what would happen if clubs had to stick with managers long term. He'd never get another job again. ATM he's lucky that there are still club's desperate enough to give him a chance, but the more interviews he gives where he shows how stupid he is the less chances he's going to get in the future.
Personally I think he's just offering the ridiculous suggestion to try and keep people from just seeing what a mess he's made out of the start of his managerial career. Put the blame on him lasting 177 days on Blackburn, even though the fans were calling for his head because he was failing badly.
The pressure on managers has clearly grown in recent times, but that is mainly through the higher rewards of success. At the top half the clubs are fighting for the riches of European qualification, at the bottom half the clubs are scrapping to avoid relegation and the huge drop in income that costs. In the lower divisions the European qualification pressures are replaced by pressure to get in the play offs. If you don't like the high pressure of modern management then you don't become a manager.

In order to get a 'reputation', how many times must you do something? When you slept with the first woman of your life (assuming you have), did you have a reputation for shagging about?
Is pulling hair really worse than nearly breaking an opponent's leg? I'd say Scholes was accidental if he didn't do it so regularly. Is hair pulling really any worse than what Ferdinand did against Chelsea the other week, when he tripped Torres from behind for no reason at all? Now I actually found the hair pull ridiculously funny, it was a 'legendary' wind up.
I think the only thing you could argue he has a 'reputation' for are diving and potential stamping as he's left his foot in before. The one against Zenit was daft as it was split second stuff at best, but I've seen him leave his foot in during tackles/attempted blocks before.

If the relationship between the owner and manager had deteriorated so much the owner would simply hire a "Director of Football" and give him all of the managers powers.

Every time he went in, late, with his studs showing, at a pretty decent collision speed. What's that, probably every other game in his career, right?

he's been incredibly lucky not to break 280 odd legs then, unless he has and the FA has covered it all up etc what a bad example he is
Racist even does the hand in the air, 'i've been fouled' thing he likes to do

| I love the way the player in the green and yellow barely flinches and just gets up, all while Suarez starts rolling around playing the foulee
