| Was Citeh's deal to take offer the Commonwealth Stadium as good as West Ham's deal to take over the Olympic Stadium?
Two million a year rent plus fifteen million quid to cover conversion costs when the cost for adapting the stadium is nearly 200 million?

West Ham certainly looks to have a good deal, i suspect its because they will have retractable seating to keep the running track (so keeping the Olympic legacy) that they have got it cheap?.

City's deal was fairly similar. I suspect that they've used it as the model for the West Ham deal. The main difference appears to be that City initially paid rent on a sliding scale with the Council taking 50% of the gate money in excess of 34,000 (the old Maine Rd capacity). But it worked out at about £2m pa. Its now been increased to a fixed £3m pa.
And of course the conversion costs were about a fifth of those for the Olympic Stadium, COMS being a smaller stadium and was designed to be converted into a football stadium without a running track.

| Is there something in FIFA/UEFA Rules that state England must get a poor group to play in to enable them to qualify for tournaments ?

| According to todays papers, David Moyes is set to take over at Sunderland. Bit of a step down from being the next Man Utd boss.

It's a step down from being the Everton boss.
More realistic than him taking over at Old Trafford though.

Unless Sunderland are in line for a massive takeover, then that move will never, ever happen.
He's had chances to manage Spurs and Villa in the last 2 years - Both bigger clubs than Sunderland can ever dream of being - Why would he suddenly decide to jump ship to manage them?

So why didn't he take the Spurs job?
I'm not buying him having a deal set up to take over from Ferguson when he leaves.

Neither do I......I don't honestly see a viable move for Moyes away from Everton, within the British game at present - Only thing I can see is maybe West Ham, if they follow up their recent ground move announcment with a further announcment of major investment.
They are probably the next Chelsea/Man City, so might possibly interest a manager like Moyes?

| Why would any next move for Moyes have to be within England?
Wonder if he might consider one of the Old Firm. Guaranteed silverware and European football.
