| Titus Young already released by the Rams. The Packers releasing Charles Woodson, I can see him at the Patriots.

| Woodson is still an excellent player. He has lost a step but you can't take away his mind which is one of the best in the business.
He just isn't worth the $10million a year when we have some decent young safeties and corners and need to give new contracts out.
He'll land on a great team (Pats, Denver, Ravens) and play well for another couple of years.

I think you played the majority of last season without him anyway, is that correct? Do you have a natural suucessor on the roster or will you look to the draft.

I'm not sure how many he missed (think it was around the same as Jennings) but he was also limited for lots of the year.
We have Morgan Burnett at the other safety and M.D Jennings/Jerron McMillan at his spot who we seem to rate. Plus Casey Heywood looked extremely good in Woodsons former slot CB position. Whether they can replace him is another question. In terms of play, maybe (especially since he went to Safety), but I doubt we can replace his leadership and ability to read the game.
Wouldn't be surprised for us to take a cb/s in the 1st this year.

| The Chiefs have got a starting QB and they didn't have to give up their 1st pick to get him as they traded 2013/14 2nd round picks to get Alex Smith from the 49ers.They will now hope they get the Alex Smith from the last 2 years and not the pre 2011 season one.

| The Chiefs are idiots. Terrible deal for them. I'm willing to bet Smith will be Matt Cassell, the sequel

100%. Alex Smith is a bust who was made moderately respectable by being surrounded by an excellent team. He is nothing but a game manager at his absolute best. Exactly the same as Cassell - looked average in a great team and was built up largely because of their record. On a team where he is expected to do everything he will fold.

| I think Jamal Charles will be very upset. I think it's a bit harsh to call him a bust. I acknowledge that he doesn't have the tools of a Rodgers, Brees, Brady type quarterback, but as you say he isn't a terrible game manager. I don't think you need an elite qb anymore to win a superbowl. There was a debate of Dave Dameshek's football podcast arguing this point. Flacco and Eli Manning are hardly top 5 qb's but you can get it done on the back of a decent d and a good run.

| Alex Smith got better in SF when they drafted a lot of o-linemen with high draft picks and the Chiefs will be drafting the same with their 1st pick. The big thing for the Chiefs will also be can they get some good WR's to help Smith as the only half decent one they had in Bowe will probably be gone in free agency.

He is a bust. I think he is as good as he will get which when you consider his draft position and performances isn't great.
You can of course win without an absolutely elite QB however to do so you need to have virtually all the other pieces in place and a very good team around them. He had that in San Fran. He won't have that in KC. He isn't a good enough QB to paper over his teams cracks.
He is a step up from Cassell but that is it. They'll win more games but ultimately do nothing.
