Rivaldo vs Valencia 2001.
I'm pretty sure that Ronaldo scored a special one at Old Trafford in the CL years ago, to knock them out. Think he got a standing ovation.
Suarez's was fantastic, it was just that it was in a dead rubber game against a poor side who are spent that takes a tiny little but off it for me, but it did get me thinking what better hat-tricks have I seen when he scored that third.

| Most memorably for me, in terms of context of the game and the individual's whole background leading up to it, is surely Paolo Rossi's for Italy in the '82 World Cup against Brazil.
Also helps that it was part of arguably the greatest 90 minutes of football you could ever wish to see.

| Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's "perfect" hat trick (left foot shot, right foot shot, header) against Tottenham was better.
Scousers might claim that the 45 yard shot from Suarez has the wow factor, but a perfect cross from Jesper Gronkjaer is equal to a 90 yard shot.

Agreed, remember that one well. Brings some of the old chelsea memories before roman arrived, zola, poyet, the defender marcel D (can't spell his second name to save my life), i think people forget what a handy team you had before he arrived.

| Wayne Rooney's debut was a better hat-trick, although I will admit that it didn't contain a goal as good as the Suarez third, although he did do that against Middlesbrough in 2004. I also preferred Robbie Fowler's against Arsenal, the fact he did it in five minutes was even more remarkable. Still the best finisher I think the premier league has ever had.

Can't recall that one. Will have to have a look on YouTube.

He did score a hattrick and he did get a standing ovation, I always felt that good though his hattrick was having a dwarf in goals made it look better than it actually was, one of the goals in particular was right down the middle

Suarez's hat trick was pretty damn good but I still think the Bergkamp one against Leceister was the best I can remember. Although not as dramatic as the Rivaldo hat trick (which I hadn't seen so thanks for the recommendation) I'd put Suarez's ahead of it for sheer quality. The first Rivaldo one was a free kick (decent one not amazing) and the second should really have been saved. That said Tevez has scored a couple of good hat tricks for City since he's been here, certainly the Norwich had a thunderous one to go with the final world class finish.
I don't know if you read that story last week about the Finnish 17 year old who scored a three minute perfect hat trick in only his second league game. Was just reminded to have a read about him and it says he was on trial at Liverpool last week. Scored 33 goals in 21 games in the youth team (or reserves, one of the two).

| Seen some crackers from Nathan Ellington, Andy Liddell and Greame Jones in my time.
James Hayter scored one in 18 minutes off the bench for Bournemouth once IIRC and one was a peach.
