| Quote andym1988="andym1988"downing, adam, carroll and henderson have been four truly awful signings to start with, and they were brought in as important players. maybe with the exception of henderson, who still needs a bit of development.'"
In contrast, I though Pardew was a joke appointment at Newcastle, how wrong I was. In turn, his dealings in the transfer market have been brilliant.
Rodgers will get manager of the year, lots of love for Swansea but it's Pardew for me, outstanding.

Not so sure on that, I think Pardew [iwill[/i get it myself, and rightly so.

Bottom line is if you have a £35 million pound striker on £200k a week and your struggling for goals you give him a chance..... The recent Aguero injury proving the decision correct.
In an ideal world he would be nowhere near the team but aside from the football side we need to have him in the shop window for financial reasons.
Also not sure what the exact rule is but I'm sure there's something about players having to play a certain amount of games or being able to leave for free.'"
I have no doubts you needed him back, but you did say that Tevez returned with his tail between his legs, when it was nothing of the sort, and more like City begging him to rescue a faltering season.
A failed mission will just make Mancini and City look daft.....A victory would make it look like a genius decision.

Begging????? Love to know where you've got that from.
We tried to sell him but nobody would pay our asking price so City refused to be forced to sell him cheaply.
We weren't paying him during the strike and when he decided to return by law had to start paying him again. It would be idiotic and stubborn to not play him, whatever the result of the title.

Me too, I was extremely downbeat, could see another relegation on the horizon and thought it was just another Ashley and Llambias old pals' act.
Him and his backroom team have made some terrific, cost effective signings, the club is in a very good financial state, and providing we can keep the backbone of the team in place and add around it then there could be bright days ahead.
Just seen Kenny's interview from after the match on YouT, oh dear, some way to gloss over Carroll's dive...

| I said it before and I'll say it again. Dalgleish is a joke of a manager who is living in the 1990s.
Andy Carroll's dive today was one of the funniest things you'll see on a football field and really he should be banned for it, just as the keeper would no doubt of been had the referee given the penalty.
It's not hard to see why Liverpool are in such a mess. Dalgleish and Comoli between them had a plan. A masterplan for European domination. It involved researching their signings on FIFA Soccer and paying twice what you could get them for on the game.
Anyone defending KKK after this season needs to take a long hard look at their devotion. Hodgson is a far better manager than he is and Liverpool made a massive mistake by not perseveering with him.
To top it off I've had my next door neighbour telling me KKK is just unlucky and that if Lucas Leiva hadn't got injured, Liverpool would have challenged for the title.

| Why did Carroll go down, he could have scored? Pepe deserved the red but Perch... deary me!
Surprised City dropped points home to Sunderland, camp seems a bit disturbed right now which won't help.
Blackburn away is gonna be tough, tipped us to win 1-0 but, not confident.

| Balotelli and Kolorov will probably feel a bit sluggish if they're training in the morning, the former recently tweeted saying they were up watching Wrestlemania together.
Not sure if it is his official twitter, there seems to be a craze at the minute for people making up stories about him, so nothing surprises me with his antics.

| Quote citywolf="citywolf"The last thing we need to do at City is get rid of Mancini.
If we don't win the league I agree it will be a dissapointment but just because money has been spent it doesn't mean we've a god given right to win anything.
The key is stability, we haven't had that for 20 years. Mancini has had us playing great football this year and has proven strong enough to deal with egos. (Tevez was the one who came back with his tail between his legs).
It's gone wrong since Feb but hopefully the team will learn and grow. Every year since Mancini has been in charge we've improved. I see no reason why that wouldn't continue.'"
I agree, with the caveat that we started losing form from late December.
It will be disappointing to finish the season without any trophies but the current team is much better than it was 12 months ago, and that team was much better than it was 24 months ago...
I don't think we'll be big net spenders in the summer but I expect there'll be some turnover in players. Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko, De Jong, Johnson, Kolo Toure, Kolarov could all be going, plus the existing loaned out players. But the core of the team (Hart, Richards, Kompany, Yaya, Silva & Aguero) is exceptionally strong and getting better. And players like Zabaleta, Barry, Milner, Lescottt, Clichy are well worth hanging on to.
Mancini has had his failings (overplaying Silva in the first half of the season being the main one) but I'd be very disappointed if the owners didn't stick with him. But he does need to address our poor away form and get more pace into the team.
