Quote: Enfield Exile "Mate, taking diet pills is not regarded as significant as consuming other drugs. Even the PFA is saying it is proprtionate.
Ferdinand was rightfully banned for a longer period. He missed a test. Do you honestly expect that for someone to miss a test with such a lame excuse to be punished less than someone who was caught taking a drug that is not regarded as 'bad' as some others? If you do then someone who has taken anabolic steroids will simply miss a test and take a cleansing agent and not be banned for a significant period. How ridiculous would that be?
Do you know any details of the Negouai case?
There were rumours about the Paddy Kenny case thatican say on here.'"
What do you mean by taking other drugs? Are the likes of cocaine, ecstasy etc performance enhancing? I wouldn't say so.
Having used diet pills in the past i can state for a fact that they are perfomance enhancing as the majority contain Ephidrine which is a stimulentand is on the IOC list of banned substances (Chris Morley was banned for it's use while at Leigh).
Now what is a worse offence taking something to give you the edge over your rivals or a recreational drug? One is cheating the other isn't.
As for Rio he missed the test but took the test the day after and passed 100% now can you name me a drug that can be in your system one day and no trace the day after? Even the FA admitted that they got it wrong and Rio was the only player to be banned out of 96 players who missed test.
