I think most City fans would've realistically been happy with 4th place at the start of the season, the odds of them sustaining a serious title challenge were quite slim IMO due to lots of new faces etc, they'll see 4th, and their first CL qualification as their first step in their quest to become the biggest/most successful club in the country. It's all about success in stages for them, unless you're talking about becoming the most despised club in the land, in which case they've done that in one fell swoop
