Quote: andym1988 "Back then, wrestling was wrestling.
Now, its more like a situation drama, with a couple of matches chucked in around the bad acting and shouting fests in the ring. Was only born in 88 so didn't see any of the 80s wrestling til I managed to get hold of some old video tapes but I would rather watch that over any 'modern' wrestling except maybe the Stone Cold-Rock era.'"
Started watching it in '91 when WWF had great wrestlers like Bret Hart, Mr Perfect, The Rockers etc so know exactly what you mean.
What really pi$$es me off these days is the goldfish bowl the WWE lives in - they're so dismissive of anyone who's worked in other countries/promotions, so the first thing they feel they have to do when they sign a world-class, world-travelled performer like CM Punk or Brian Danielson is teach them 'how to work'.
Speaking of Danielson, been watching some old NXT clips tonight, they really were idiots for sacking that guy.
