Mago at #20 is interesting. Was hoping for a bold statement with French at #1 and Field at #6. Not really sure why Willie Isa is #11 when KPP will be in the starting line up.

Not too dis similar to most years depth wise I reckon.

Hopefully the later numbers come into the team and surprise us and become reliable.

Guys like Hanley, Halsall and McDonnell going strips out some depth and also means the Reserves team won’t be as experienced but if they’re not playing and it’s holding their careers back, you can’t blame them for wanting new opportunities or us for deciding to save the money and push younger players up the pecking order.

The worry this season is that we pick up 5 or 6 early injuries and then need to over burden guys like Hill, Nsemba, Eckersley etc but if we do have a bit of luck on the injury front and we can just dip kids like those on, it’ll be interesting to see how they go. It feels like they’ve really picked out 6 or 7 young players and pinned their colours to them. I’m excited to see how they go but the circumstances of how they’re used needs fixing be correct and we’ll need some luck for that to happen.

Shorrocks needs to step up this season. The amount of lads that have left he needs to be contributing more or be moved on

How long does Miski have left on his contract? I'm surprised he would be happy again to wait for the odd appearance on the wing due to injury, whilst he's no superstar he's pretty solid in both attack and defence. For someone of his age he should be pushing for a starting spot at a SL club by now.

He is a squad player at best. He's not big, fast or a great ball player, his speed from acting half his abysmal.

It depends on your version of let down, if someone that tries their best is your requirement, then no he hasn't as he always does try his best. If you're looking for talent and ability to go with the effort, that is where I feel he's let down, not his fault at all, but he's limited.

Not so sure with Shorrocks that he's lacking talent. He's been behind two very good second rows which is what he is for me. At times his utility allowed him to play inside and just like when Batty and Faz come in from the edges he doesn't shine there and although it's given him game time does him little favour. If we need this season I would give him a few games on the edge and judge him then. If needed he's the sort of replacement for Isa in the squad you need without taking a quota spot maybe not a star but for me he doesn't let you down no problem with him that way in the squad seems a good lad.
