| Apologies if previously discussed/brought up but did anyone else notice Mr Speed Demon himself Sam Moa. I didn't spot it live due to celebrating but just caught it on the replay and even then did a double take as I expected it to be Manu or someone similar sized but quicker, In the chase he is faster than Houghton and not a hell of a lot slower than Briscoe, infact when he first starts he may have been marginally quicker hats off to him he must be the quickest Prop/2nd Row in the League.

Didn't notice. I was watching Briscoe coming across, I knew Pat had the others beat.

| I wouldnot swop Pat for any other winger in the league, but for shere pace Briscoe was catching him at a hell of a rate. That guy is rapid.

| Manu wasn't far off catching up with Tomkins at one point as he was going in for his second. He can also shift for a big feller.

It was Willie Manu who was catching up with him, not Moa. Also I thought Pat never really got out of 2nd gear and even started to ease up 20m from the line. He has elusive pace!

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| I don't think Pat has the pace he had, but he has excellent timing. He knows when to pus the gas and when he does not need to. However, it is noticable when he has to move quickly off the mark, but thats the injury coupled with the fact he is 6' 3". Ripped achilles take some healing, I ripped mine at 50 during Taekwondo training. I know i'm a lot older than Pat, but its a bad injury.
But i would not swap him for raw speed. Top player, we are lucky to have him.

I think Pat has lost a bit of speed but he is still the best winger in the comp. I think he now has 16 tries this season, which might well put him in the top 10 tryscorers at the end of the weekend, which is a fantastic achievement for a player who has had such a serious injury and missed a big chunk of the season.
I imagine the club medical and fitness people will be working very hard with Pat, particularly in the off-season, who knows he may recover some of his top end speed and gain more confidence (I'm sure that after an injury as bad as that there will be a natural reluctance to push things too far).
But whatever happens we should be very happy to have him in the side. What a player Pat is. It's no coincidence that Wigan's return to form coincided with Pat's return to the side. The man just oozes class. Paaaaaaat, we salute you!

No it was Moa who was chasing him I've watched it back enough times it was 100% Moa Manu is #16 whereas Moa is #23 and that's who was chasing him.

| Whats frightening is hes that fast after a serious injury can you imagine if we'd of had him at 25ish years old?! He must of been amazingly fast back then considering him now. Briscoe was doing well but I admit I was amazed at the speed of that forward whichever one it was moa or manu lol

Your right, he was 24 when we first signed him and then I remember everyone saying he was slow and wouldnt beat people over a distance with myself and a few others arguing that due to his height he didnt look rapid as he ran due to his longer stride and slower leg speed, still managing to have a good pace in open space!

I think you need a trip to Specsavers then, because it was 100% No.16 Willie Manu who was chasing him.
