He has.
He is so tough and uncomplicated. He just gets the job done and will run the ball in all day long. I've always thought he'd be a slow burner that would really come into his own in his mid to late twenties and I stick to that. He's a good player now but I expect in a couple of years he'll have moved his game on again.

He's like that paint that does exactly what it says on the tin. He just gets the ball and runs straight and as fast as he can into the opposition line, every single time. There's no let up at all, the lad is like a machine. Definitely worth us keeping him around to see whether he can improve over the next few years.

| Whilst he might not have the size to bash through players, he runs in hard and never takes a backwards step and goes through a lot of work. This is what I think Prescott lacks and also his error count is shocking. With young Faz making a good impact as well I don't see how Prescott can get back into the team again unless Madge picks to rotate the players etc and injuries. And yes I do know Faz and Prescott play different positions but at the mo I'd rather have Faz on the bench than have another prop in Prescott.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Liam Farrell reminds me of Paul Gallen, if he ends up anything like him we will have some player on our books.

Well according to the stats on the superleague website he has made 5 errors in 11 games so not so shocking really is it?

It's where he makes those errors though which are inside our own half.

That isn't what you said though is it? You said the amount of errors he makes is shocking not the area in which he makes them

Fair enough, and I've also just checked that Eamon also has the same amount of handling errors as Prescott but Prescott was the same last year and considering he isn't on the field for very long, probably about 30 minutes for the whole of the game? It's not very good all the same (same for Eamon) but to me doesn't make the same impact that O'Carroll does. For a player of Prescott's size he doesn't make the impact he should. It's a shame really as when he first came onto the scene he looked to have somethin about him but hasn't really progressed any further.

| O'Carroll really has come on strong this season. He's showing much more determination and he's improved his defence a lot from the beginning of the season. When driving the ball up he always makes metres and is very direct. He's definitely cementing his place in the team with his performances.
He height was seen as a disadvantage by many but he's overcome that simply by making sure he runs hard and low into the tackle which makes it harder for bigger forwards to get him round his legs.
I thought yesterday he was excellent and stood up very well to a big pack of forwards.
In Prescott's defence though, I think he's got a slight disadvantage in that he probably makes just as many metres taking the ball up as O'Carroll but he doesn't appear to because he hits the line at a slower pace. I'd like to use stats to compare them but the SL site decided to give Prescott someone else's stats last week, but going off previous games they're relatively similar.
If I'm not mistaken Prescott was injured during the off season so he may not have had the same pre-season as the rest of the team. We've seen from certain players what a full pre-season can do for a player so I'm not surprised he hasn't progressed too much. One thing Prescott does have in his favour is that even if he isn't making the metres he should he does have the ability to put other people through gaps as shown in the Sheffield game.
O'Carroll is definitely higher in the pecking order at the moment, although we all know that can change game by game, so I think this year Maguire will try to get plenty of games out of all his 5 first team props.

| O'Carroll has improved in that he always took the up the ball strongly but used to get knocked around in the tackle ending up on his back and with a slow ptb.
That wasn't so v Hudds, he's now quickly off the floor and that matters.
He's another that appears to have improved his performace with better training.

| If he wants to play for England i think he'll not be able to turn out for Ireland for 3 years then he can 'switch'
Another reason we should stay as Great Britain until Ireland/Wales are anything like.
