| Quote: thepriestman85 "Orford has been poor.
Many Bulls fans were expecting a player on par with someone like Trent and Bradford even paid him wages at that level as well. The problem is apart from one season he's never been near a player like Trent in terms of quality or talent.
We can look at who is around him (Lynch, Scruton, Hall, Langley & Menzies btw are quality players) and we can look at the coach but sooner rather than later you've gotta say Orford ain't earning his dosh at the Bulls.
Poor signing'"
I disagree. Bradford have an awful backline. One of the worst in the league and apart from the names mentioned the rest of their pack are very average. Part of the blame is on the recruitment, but you must also look to the methods put in place by McNamara. They're very poor. The rugby under Brian Noble for the regular rounds was some of the worst I have seen in over ten years watching Wigan, but the players we had at the club should have delivered much more. Ian Lenagan agreed and the rest is history. My point is you can have the best players around you (which Bradford don't have), but you need the methods and structures in place for them to be effective. Bradford aren't getting the best out of Matt Orford. Not all the blame can be put on him.

I agree. I think McNamara inherited a poor set up by Noble, a team that were declining quickly anyway and with falling gates and little money it was a bit of a poisened chalice. By the look of things McNamara has learned a lot from Noble and has followed his methods and style of coaching, which isnt a good thing. They needed a complete change to revitalise the club, like happened at Wigan this season, but instead got a poor coach and a mirror image of the person that had started their decline.
With regards to the players that backline is awful as you say. At times when I have seen Bradford this season Paul Sykes has been one of their main players and is sometimes being used as a playmaker which says it all. He is awful and if he is considered one of their better backs then they are really struggling. Orford just looks like he cant be bothered and looks like he is wondering what the hell he has done going there.

| Just heard from a reliable source:
Feka is on his way out, along with Phelps.
Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook is odds-on in, and its between us and Saints to get him.

He's young-ish, English, doing reasonably well in a fairly poor team, and I doubt he'd come on huge money. Seems perfect as a 3rd/4th prop for me, I'd rather have him over Prescott or O'Carroll.

Agree on that one. I suspect both will have to work very hard and show real improvement if they are to receive a new contract.

LMS has agreed terms with Saints for next year unfortunately but whoever MM decides to bring in will be plenty good enough I suspect ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

Some pretty good signings for Saints if confirmed, three of the four are only young guys and as a bonus their also British. Perry should take a share of the work load off Graham and Shenton's an ok replacement for Gidley.
The two I'd be miffed about Saints getting would be Owen and LMS. Alright Owen might be somewhat of a risk seeing as he's just suffered a major injury, but once he's fully recovered the lads going to continue to develop into a real class act and a player I'd have like'd to see at Wigan.
I've been a longtime fan of LMS, people always try to say he's only considered good because he's a Londoner playing for Quins, well I totally disagree the lads going to be in time a superb player, and I'd have liked to have seen him become our third choice prop behind Coley and Lima or Sika Manu.

Reading this with interest from about half way down.
Can see us going for Finch, Quinn and Brett White.
Inglis anyone?
Mentions that Manu and Blair are unlikely to go, ditto Lima.
