Latics up for grabs in less than 6 months IMO.'"
He's openly admitted he's been looking in the middle east for a buyer but i just can't see Latics being that attractive an option for any of these cashed up arabs.
The fact that they get the lowest crowds in the Premier League will put people off straight away.

Fulham's have risen impressively - averaged around 23,000 last season I think (higher than Bolton, Blackburn, Latics and Portsmouth)

| I've been perusing the Land Registry Direct service in my lunch hour to see what I can find of interest on there without racking up loads of fees. I have found a registered freehold title in favour of the Council and a registered leasehold title in favour of the Wigan Football Company Limited (lease is for 99 years from 4 August 1999). The Land Registry Day List indicates that the WFCL leasehold interest is shortly to be transferred to Dave Whelan Sports Limited. There is no registered leasehold title in favour of Wigan RL but I wouldn't expect the document we use the stadium under to be a lease so that is no surprise. It's more likely to be some sort of licence or other occupational agreement that won't be registrable.
It will cost me about £30 to apply for copies of the WFCL lease and a deed that might be relevant. I therefore can't be bothered as I have better things to spend £30 on at the moment but if anyone wishes to stump up I will fill in the forms with pleasure!
Interestingly, there is also a separate registered leasehold title for 'The changing rooms, JJB Stadium..'! This indicates that there is a separate lease in place for the changing rooms which is a bit random.

Does that £30 include your fees, as a solicitor?

| Vicki - not sure if you're aware but Wigan Football Club Limited was Wigan RL's legal name up until Lenegan took over. It is now Wigan Rugby League Club Ltd.
It it could be that the lease does actually refer to the rugby club. Or more likely, the lease refers to the OLD holding company, and that Lenegan's WRLC Ltd took out a NEW lease when he bought the club.
