There lies your problem, he thinks he knows more that your coach. No wonder the players at Quins despised him

But Mason is a prop - its hardly a shock statement. I think IL likes to think he knows abit about coaching, but so does every fan, as long as he leaves it to the coach Im not bothered.
These players would be more interesting to me than Mason
Quote: wire-quin "Wigan are also understood to be interested in signing Roosters forward Mark O'Meley, St George Illawarra prop Justin Poore and Manly scrum-half Matt Orford.'"

Where have you got that conclusion from?
He stated his opinion of where he thinks a player is best suited, that's all.
....Say, I don't suppose you were having a little dig because he left Harelquins, where you?

| Mason Signing for Wigan would be Fieldens worst nightmare according to that Why? if his whole career has gone to the dogs due to that one punch as the article suggests,(which is utter bo*locks) why would he be bothered about him playing with him, surely he'd be more bothered if he was going to have to play against him.
FWIW i think him signing would be a gamble but i think it would get the best out of Fielden. He'd want to show that he's not intimidated by him or some sort of soft ar*e and i think we'd see the old snarling Fielden back.
It won't happen though as Mason wouldn't get a visa over here would he? He must have been in bother at some point over there.

Is that his job to do that? We all have opinions but as a chairman should he be making public comments like that?
Dont kid yourself that IL is the money behind Quins.
IL is the self publicist that passed through Quins with some financial backing. David Hughes is and always has been the money man behind London RL. On the day we nearly got kicked out of the league he put £3.5 million on the table as an assurance.
IL although helping the club in the short term it now appears placed our very existence at risk due to the wedges he drove between the RU/RL clubs which are now being repaired. On the face of it he did a good job, scratch below the surface and it would appear otherwise.
His loyalties lie elsewhere as was proven when he turned up at the Stoop for our game with his red and white tie on. We've moved on not only on the playing field but by bringing in a proper MD rather than an ex Wigan full back(lydon) to grow the club of the field.

I'd play him at prop too.
I wonder if Mark Tookey hates me now.

Ah, so your Ian Lenegan bashing stems from him wearing a red and white tie at a Harelquins game.
Get over it.

| Going back to Long. He's 33 in Sept and that alone would rule him out for me. Totally out of the question despite the personal stuff.
As for Mason, he's a liability. In the famous match where he belted Fielden his worse offence was an elbow off the ball cheap shot on Long.
He was up before the beak over Fielden but the Long incident was far worse. The Aussies I met that week to a person thought Mason was a complete plonker! Every season he does something that embarrasses himself, his club and the game of Rugby League.
Last week he was fined by his club for off the field trouble.
Not sure he's what we want at Wigan at all!

| There ain't half some complete Cod posted on here.
Who says it will be Fielden's worst nightmare?
Fielden excelled in a strong pack with enforcers at Bradford. There's nothing to say that the signing of Mason could ironically bring out the same in him.
What is for sure about Mason is that he's well capable of being a class SL prop. Not only that he can act as the enforcer, and wear's his heart on his sleeve.
Should this not be a load of bunkum, and the money is right we would be plane stupid to turn it down. He would be an awesome signing for Wigan.

The Sun.
It would be a dream signing in terms of what it would bring out of Fielden imo.

Agree with all of the above.
Mason would be immense in the UK.

What wedges did he drive between the RU/RL clubs?
We have a proper MD as well, so I fail to see your point.
