23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

Your saying we haven't lost without him which is pretty much saying we dont need him when infact he's one of our best forwards for a second row the guy can shift and he's very strong he gives 100% week in week out

| What I do not understand is why you needed to make this thread? If you think you have been vindicated in your original comments, congrats. Unfortunately the way you have acted has got a lot of backs up. Whilst you are entitled to your opinion, you did not need to rub what you think is a victory in everyone's face. Perhaps you wouldn't be "attacked" if you acted more maturely.
Personally I feel we have missed Hansen. If you do not believe this is the case and feel our wins whilst he has been out of action proves this, so be it.

51755_1278208957.jpg Attention Dire fans and trolls: NOT on the bandwagon, despite the join date. Those of us who were forced to watch Dennis Moran play in Cherry & White deserved to see Lockers lift that trophy at Old Trafford.

Have we missed HH in terms of results? Fair enough, if you look at nothing but, no we haven't.
Have we missed HH in terms of the team's performance over 80 minutes in each of those games? Quite potentially. It's impossible to say for certain without a bleedin' time machine. He offers a hell of a lot to the squad when he's in it. He's very quick for a SR and is one of the best defenders in the league.
With the second point in mind (I'm not having a pop here, I'm just genuinely curious) who do you feel we have who wasn't in the squad when Hansen got injured "who can do what he can do?"

You're claiming that H hasn't been missed as we've been winning. We we're winning when Pat was out. We've been winning when Stu is out. Are they not missed?
The fact is that H, like Stu, like Liam Farrell and like Ryan Hoffman are all quality players that will be missed in some way by any team in the league. Saints for example have been winning without a million first team players (well, if you speak to Eddie Hemmings) but it doesn't mean they aren't missing them

So I'm now not allowed to post a thread?
I'll explain. I posted it after the torrent of abuse I took for suggesting months ago that he wouldnt be missed. After win after win I decried to post my response outling that my point was more than valid.
This isn't the first time I've received pages of pages of abuse after a post- for example:
Discussing trying Sam as a FB
Looking to invest into Wigan based talent rather than overseas.
The way opinions in here are hammered, the way abuse is directed to one person is nothing short of a disgrace and should be looked at by the mods.
I would have never posted the OP if it wasn't for the abusive reaction it got the first time around.

It's not the OP that was the initial problem, or the fact that you have a different opinion from everybody else in the world. Its the way you have gone about trying to consistently claim that you have a case without it being backed up with any proper stats i.e. games we've lost without him. The name calling, e.g. 'inbred' isn't a good way to prove your point either.
Wigan have that good of squad depth that we haven't missed him. If he had played, we would have probably won more comfortably and coming to the 'business' end of the season, that's when we are more likely going to miss him.
I just think you're the kinda person that likes an argument and you won't back down even if proved wrong.

| You are more than entitled to post this topic, I said I do not understand why you felt you needed to post it.
If you feel you got far too much abuse in your original post, perhaps you should have realised people wouldn't have took to kindly to this thread. Whilst I would never condone the abuse that you feel you have suffered, I fail to see why you would open yourself up for it again.
I hope that you will understand that although you may be making a valid point, the attitude that you make it with could cause hostility.

I completely agree with you that people should not be abused or personally attacked for their comments on a forum. I've disagreed with you before if I remember rightly (on the investing in Wigan talent thread) and that involved an amicable discussion on Wigan/rugby which ideally is the path that most threads should take. But it seems in starting this thread you were sticking a middle finger up to everyone that thought HH would be missed originally. It could certainly be seen as a "I'm right and you were all wrong" directed at everyone with a differing opinion to yourself, starting a thread in this manner is clearly going to antagonise and annoy other people, and it would seem this was possibly your aim. Also you mentioned that people from certain areas of Wigan are "inbred" and threw other such insults around, aimed at those with differing opinions to yours, is that constructive? If people shouldn't be abused for their opinions, why did you resort to throwing insults? Whilst I understand that you are obviously annoyed that your are seemingly being attacked for your opinion, by posting a thread that was clearly going to cause disagreement and antagonise people I'm not quite sure what you expected? As you say, everyone is entititled to their opinion, but maybe stating it as an opinion rather than saying it's a fact and backing it up with stats that don't prove anything and claiming everyone who disagrees is wrong would be a better approach. I can see that this post may seem patronising but it genuinely isn't intended to be, I don't know for a fact whether H has been missed or not, but in my opinion he was.

I even said that we have depth in our squad so if i a player is injured it wont affect us the only player who would be missed is paaaaat for his kicking thats it sam wouldn't be missed and he's that good but you can give credit to all the coaches down at the club for bringing these young lads on'"
ha complete rubbish! sam tomkins is the best player in our squad by a mile! without him wigan wouldnt be half as dangerous as they are! he can create something out of absolutely nothing and no one else comes close to him!dont give me this roberts rubbish as he isnt fit to clean his boots. he had about 9 good games in the whole time he has been here! Fair enough we miss pat richards kicking when he is out but if deacon is fit then we have a kicker just as good!

Where have a mentioned roberts? fwiw i think amos is gash
Sam is the best player in our squad but no by a mile richards plays a massive role some would argue bigger than sam but i'm not sure
The point i was making we can cover sam in the squad yes we cant replace his attack but we cant cover richards for his kicking and his hight and strength near the line
Forgot to add deacon is nowhere near the goal kicker pat is

What do you call this then?
Quote: Last Son of Wigan "Because months ago I claimed we won't miss him and when the games played out we didn't. Not clueless, in fact I'm just not one of the inbreds who can actually see what happens on the rugby pitch and what players offer. So have we missed him? How many have we lost without him?'"
So are you saying that anybody who disagrees with you is an 'inbred'?

Quote: Last Son of Wigan "I would imagine the majority of posters on here are from marsh green or some other classy upbringing, probably the same mindless idiots who shout the most retarded comments down at the DW. I find it laughable that I think there is only one other poster who actually understood my point.
One idiot tried to compare it to the one game we won without Sam and Joel (Huddersfield) just demonstrates the lack of smarts in this forum to make such a comparison.'"
What the fook has diagreeing with you got to do with us being 'from Marsh Green'? That's just immature and downright rude if you ask me.
I find it highly ironic that you are now crying to the mods about being insulted against when it's shown that you were name calling and throwing insults as early as page two of this thread first.
RLFANS is made up 99.9% opinions and 0.1% fact (Official Club Statements & Bilko's match reports), opinions which we are all entitled to make. But a the end of the day that's all they are.
Live with it.
