To be fair my initial post was a lobbygobblin wind up 
Wigan for me is the centre with maybe Scholes and Swinley. Pemberton is Pem and for Pembertonians like myself it is apart from Wigan. |

I had a gander at the Walk of Fame earlier today which was excellent, but the highlight for me was on the opposite wall. There is a timeline of Wigan stretching from roman occupation through to present day, anyway in '95 it points out Wigan winning the last of the 8 consecutive challenge cups and best of all no mention of the tics. The town is ours.

In 1995 we were saved from the brink of death by a certain Mr D Whelan who promised Premier League football within 10 years. He was laughed at. 10 years later Wigan Athletic were promoted to the Premier League. |
