I don't know if anyone's already suggested this, but couldn't Whelan just be giving us this one stand to appease us before he then names the other three stands after latics leg ends?
I know they'd struggle to name one, never mind three, but it's entirely possible. Wouldn't seem such a great gesture then!

Same thought passed my mind although a while back on Cockney Liar or Wigan Today, I forget which, the best they could come up with was some auld kit mon who'd given 30 odd years service. Cheshire Combination League and all. |

I'd imagine he would go with one of Alex Cribley (current physio who has been with the club for years and years in I guess a role similar to Keith Mills), Tommy Gore, Harry Lyon or possibly one of the names instrumental in getting us into the FL in 1978. |

Keith Mills won't be known by many people outside Wigan or indeed RL and nor would Stan Wall much outside St Helens. They are however club legends.

i'd wager most latics fans wouldn't know who those blokes are. remember what we're constantly being told, that latics have one of the youngest demopgraphics amongst football supporters. |
