| Will they play " making your mind up" as we run on to the pitch?

We also couldn't afford to build a ground equal to the quality of DW. I know DW gets slated for lack of atmosphere etc. but the facilities are very good for RL Stadia. Despite what their fans might think, Latics need us to help survive in that stadium just like we'd need them to sustain it if the roles were reversal, so leaving wouldn't be an option because Wigan Athletic wouldn't want us to leave from a business point of view.
As for the tonights game, despite what i'm going to say below it doesn't personally bother me too much that the game WAS called off but the situation is a complete shambles. I've seen some good points on twitter made by our fans about the clubs relationship with our fan base. We are excellent in some aspects as a club but in others i think were are p*ss poor and this is one of them. People may see this as an over reaction but I've thought for a number of years that the relationship between the club itself and fans isn't great because of things like this. It really puts a bad taste in fans mouths. Sounds like this one is down to the chairman, who has been done excellent over the last 10 years, but things like this needs to stop or our crowds will continue to decline. I think Wigan take for granted the fan base they have.

What exactly are you protesting against. The weather?
Not ILs finest hour but surely he has enough goodwill in the bank?
Why not just turn up and support the team?

Because just turning up is what is expected of us.... as usual. But I'm sorry not on this occasion, for me I've had enough of lenegan constantly playing the role of lord Charles to Wigan athletics Ray Allen.

| Pretty much unforgivable from Lenagan given he's Chairman of the EFL and should have realised what would happen when you don't follow the correct procedures and protocols.
No doubt this weekend was put down as one of our weekends it would be difficult to play at home, but given we knew at the weekend a storm was coming Wednesday/Thursday, things should have happened much sooner. Given the state of the pitch with two games in 24 hours last weekend and the same for this (and the storm), this should have been sorted on Monday and we should have asked Widnes to switch then.
Instead we have someone who is chairman of a major sporting body not being able to organise a drink in a pub, postponing a game without consulting the opposition or the sport's governing body. Then we have the farce of the game being staged at about 8 hours notice at a different venue.
Lenagan needs to front-up, hold his hands up and apologise to everyone involved. World Champions to amateur hour in the space of 4 days.

I'm protesting the club, but supporting the team.

| I would suspect a large proportion of the costs of compo or fines may be met by whoever decreed that the game was to be called off - possibly the owners of the DW?

That would all depend on the terms of the tenancy agreement that we have and whether this was something IL agreed to or whether it was something he had no choice over. I suspect either way we won't see a penny from Latics.
I'd love to know the terms of this tenancy though I doubt I ever will. I'd speculate that, as IL has said the amount we pay is very favourable therefore I suspect there are likely to a number of concessions in their favour.

Yes you would, they make it so for us when the pitch is being relaid with usually 5 away games on the trot.

I'd not expect a penny from the Latics, as they are joint tenants. I would however expect some, if not all, of the money paid out to the RFL and Widnes, to be covered by the owners of the Stadium Management Company - unless of course the conversation between Mr Sharp & Mr Lenaghan really was a one-way version as suggested by the Cockney Latic knuckledraggers, where Sharp told IL that the rugby are not ruining the pitch again and IL rolled over meekly, where IL should foot the bill for having such a poor tenancy agreement.
As for fixture planning and deconfliction by the RFL - don't make me laugh! This is an organisation who have spent over 100 years failing to grow the game, so why on earth would anyone expect them to take into account that some clubs now share grounds with other sports who may already have a fixture scheduled for that date - Good Friday/Easter Monday being a prime example!

| People blaming the RFL are embarrasing themselves - clearly you don't understand how many drafts of the fixture lists there are, lists which are prepared based on information provided by the clubs on stadium availability. But there have to be certain limits on how flexible the RFL should or can be and Wigan pose by far the most problems of any club in the league. One suggestion was that Widnes should have home games biased towards the winter - why on earth should Widnes have a totally unbalanced fixture list just because they have an ipitch? That is not in their interests or those of their fans. The governing body already ties itself in knots trying to accomodate Wigan's lack of stadium availability - if you are really suggesting that they shouldn't schedule Wigan home games for weekends when Wigan Athletic are at home, or for five weeks in mid summer, can you point out eleven weekends between February and July, excluding the cup, Magic and WCC weekends, when your stadium would actually be available? I suspect it would be difficult.
This problem is Wigan's and Wigan's alone - either you sort it out or accept that you will have to play home games away from the DW Stadium if the demands of your landlords cannot be met by further distorting the Super League fixture list to try and accomodate them.

| Hull and Huddersfield manage to share no problems. The problem is the drainage and the poor system of drainage the ground has.
A town the size of Wigan cannot sustain two grounds. Simple economics really. Name a town in Britain that sustains two grounds that can hold 25,000 fans?
